North Sulphur River Texas was pretty picked over but I managed to find a nice variety. I found Mosasaur, Cretaceous Turtle, Ammonite, Enchodus / Shark Teeth, Ice Age Tooth, Rudists, Mastodon Tooth Enamel and one artifact in the creek. NSR needs a good rain.

I'm new, so pardon any breaches in etiquette. I found this in the North Sulphur River in Ladonia, TX, in a gravel bed. The place was pretty picked over, but for the most part what I did find I was able to ID. This, however, I have no clue where to even begin: It may be hard to tell from the pictures, but it's slightly flattened so that I had to hold it to show the profile of the ribbed pattern on each side. My google-fu has failed me (or maybe I'm just a noob), and it seemed unusual so I thought it'd be worth asking some more knowledgeable folks. Let me know if more info is needed. Thanks =)

Fossils from the red sandstone layer in the North Sulphur River. Ladonia, Texas. Does anyone know why the fossils in this layer are black, or what mineral it is?

I think this is a skull fragment, but I cannot figure out from what. Found in the North Sulphur River near Ladonia, Texas. Found in a pile of gravel and rocks in the center of the river bed. No other associated bones were found. I labeled the photos Back, Front, Top, Bottom (Because thats what they look like to me). Any help identifying it is greatly appreciated. Back View. Front View Bottom View. Top View.

I had a fun hunt today at NSR. I found a nice variety of fossils. My buddy made a friend with a small wild boar. We hiked 4 miles all together. Here's some pics of my finds. Mosasaur jaw section, Xiphactinus jaw section, Enchodus jaws and teeth, Shark teeth, Fish verts, Mosasaur tooth and verts, Tylosaur jaw fragment, Mystery bone and Old marble. The Mosasaur tooth was my first find of the day.
