And I am very proud of her ex-husband luscious green grass lol I hope to laugh and learn a lot good ways to Identify rocks preserve them also I am looking foward for to meeting a as many mentors and friends as I can along the way ! The "Rocky Road " that brought me her has not only help me to reconnect with nature get out of the phone and just ground myself unfortunately my ice cream melted and now my feet are stuck on new Discoveries I'm young and eager to learn from y'all and someday pass my knowledge along as you can see if have quiet a since of humor and a on going tumultuous relationship with rocks So I figured might as well embrace. So I found this at Post Oak Creek, Sherman, Texas. I know it is a vertebra, but I can't tell if it is fossil or modern bone. Is there a way to distinguish between the two for a fossil of this size?

Hi! I live in Dudley, UK. Have been interested in fossils forever but only recently managed to actually get hands-on over the past three years. Not found much to shout about (yet), but have totally enjoyed time out looking and exploring, plus finding more out about geological happenings in general. Been great to meet other enthusiasts at times, too. I look forward to learning so much more from everyone on here. Many thanks :-)

Hello everyone! Ive always been into archeology/paleontology but I dont get out to dig or search much, so its kinda been off the radar for a while... I do have a semi-large collection (in my opinion, to you all its probably tiny lol) Some of the bones I have, I dont know what they are and I also don't know how to identify what certain bome I have or what shark tooth I have (I know megladon and great white teeth, and tiger shark teeth as well). I cant wait to learn from the veterans and experts of this hobby!

Hi There, Thank you for letting me be a part of this amazing group. I'm very excited to be here! I'm an amateur fossil collector from Ontario, Canada. I've been a lover of fossils, rocks, minerals and nature all my life. Unfortunately I don't know many people who are as enthusiastic about fossils as I am (other than my young nephew) and over the years have spent countless hours researching and trying to compare photos of fossils to see what I may have found or seen. I hope I can save some time by picking your brains and learning some new things along the way, as well as making some new friends here. Thanks again and have a great day!

Hi Everyone, My fossil addiction started about 50 years ago. Other things in life have taken my attention, but last night I realised I had spent an hour with my dollar store reading glasses looking over ONE rock to see what I could see. I figured I either needed an intervention or a forum, so I picked a forum. My former mother in law passed away back in 2004, she had a massive collection of fossils, and now they are all mine. A few months ago my ex urged me to go over them to see which can be donated to museums, which can be sold, and which can go on a probable large set of shelves to make me happy while I'm up in Ontario. Once I'm able to better identify what I'm seeing I'd like to start prepping those which haven't already been done. I have a lot to learn. I've joined a few pages on Facebook and I'm hoping between the words and the pictures I'll pick things up quickly.
