Hey all, I was thinking of getting a dremel 290 or similar engraver so that I can prepare some of the fossils I have, because at the moment I'm using nothing but needlepoints and steel bristled brushes. As you can imagine, using this is extremely slow and not very effective. I just wanted to ask if anyone had any advice on if there are better alternatives or if I need any other equipment (such as additional tips). I already have goggles to protect my eyes and a buff to protect my lungs, so that shouldn't be an issue.

Hello! I am stumped trying to Identify this piece my neighbor gave me. I'm a genetic molecular scientist....not a lot of geology experience! Thought it could be texas holey rock, but there is quite a bit of color. Possibly limestone, but again, the color?! Maybe coral, but I'm not finding any definitive shapes that resemble coral. The majority of the piece has tiny holes. One side of it doesn't have any at all. Any and all ideas are appreciated!

Found this slab of limestone digging out an old garden wall. I think it’s a large plant or small tree, approximately 15 inches long and 3-4 inches across. Not much detail visible in either end. Any help?

I polish a part of this limestone, have different shells and calcite in some parts around, I don't know how to explain a mineral yellow color than have too the rock, it's part of the fossils too? Is probable than the fossils are Ma. Years old? What's the shape origin of this rock with sea fossils? because the rock have a special form than is natural! (I only polish to see the fossils inside). Thank for helps.

This is the lone example of what I think may be a partial Turritella shell cast, that was found on this trip.-

These oyster shells have small holes in them that appear to tunnel through to the other side. Possibly the work of some type of worm?-
