Hello! I found this fossilized bone a few days ago after the big tides in the Jurassic of the Boulonnais region (North of France). I can’t seem to place it… The cell structure looks dinosaur to me, not marine reptile. Would anyone be acquainted with this type of material and have any idea? Thank you very much! IMG_0855.mov

After a few months of many acid baths and manual prep, I finished this quality piece off this afternoon. Most likely heavily predated by another marine reptile. There’s verts, neural arches, ribs, teeth and jaw. Probably around 30 hours of prep in total. Finally have an abrasion unit on its way so all that’s left is to finish the matrix. This is my first foray into proper bone prep, only really doing smaller pieces before, and needed a challenge during this lockdown I’m the uk. Pretty happy with how it’s come out.

Just sharing afew of my finds i've been working on today. Firstly a big, marine reptile or fish coprolite that i expected to pop out of the matrix. I'm not sure if it'll look better kept in, but it's pretty delicate. Secondly a lobster, claw or body part. Not sure which. Remember i'm still new to prepping, so everything is new to me.
