    Unknown Mazon Creek Plant

I'm stumped on this one. Unfortunately it is not very well defined, but it seems like something interesting... I haven't found anything similar before. Any thoughts are appreciated. @stats @deutscheben @bigred97 @Nimravis @Mark Kmiecik @fiddlehead @flipper559
  3. I know that some fossils from Morocco are composites, but that also occurs sometimes when it comes to the Tullimonstrum gregarium (Tully Monster) from Mazon Creek. The only difference with the Tully Monster composites is that they are easily recognizable. Here is a nice 7” example of what I am talking about. With this piece, the added part is the tail, and I think that you would agree that it is a pretty close match. The scale cube is 1 cm. The neck portion, though the jaw is not visible. Transverse bar with the two black eyes. The tail-
  4. Tonight I was looking thru a few fossils and came across this piece that I had received from my fossil mentor Walter Lietz. This was a concretion that he had found and split open in August of 1987, from Pit 11.. Walter knowing it was something, he put it off to the side and 2 months later (10-87), he gave it to a friend of his, Paleoentomologist Dr. Jarmilla Kukalova’-Peck from Carleton University, Ontario. Besides studying insects, she was also known to draw the pieces that she was studying. Dr. Peck returned the fossil to Walter on 3-31-88, along with a nice drawing, identifying it as a Megascoptera nymph. Below are pics of the fossil and a copy of the drawing. I wanted to post this to show amateur fossil collectors can work with professionals.
