As the title says, I bought this piece about two years ago. I was told it was Megaloceros (Germany I believe) - I don't know for sure if it is, but it is 100% very old, very big and very heavy. The thing is, I just noticed this recent crack that wasn't there before. It is currently covered in some kind of glossy preservation medium that was put there by the seller. I keep it safely stored away in bubble wrap in a box for now. Any suggestions on how I can prevent further damage or what might be causing it?

I just posted this specimen a few days ago in the preparation forum to figure out how to save it as it's starting to crack - I'll definitely be treating it with Paraloid B72 very soon. It was sold to me as a section of Megaloceros antler. So does this look like it is Megaloceros? Apparently, it's from Germany according to the seller. It is quite heavy and very solid. I sniped it on online auction site for not a lot of money, so I won't be heartbroken if it's something else. Thoughts?

Hello guys I just received this tooth, I believe it comes from China, the person who sold this tooth told me that it is a giant deer tooth, is it correct? please help meeee. Unfortunately I don't have much information about it.

Again with another one,its Megaloceros giganteus or the Irish Elk.. However i tried something new to add in the background..Something like a swampy background. I dont like it personally but that was only a try..I hope to to improve and fix that in the future. Enjoy

Dear Guys, I recently noticed the surprising similarity between two calcaneus bones I found in the same forest felling in South Lithuania. I think they belong to deers but the first in the picture is very big (8,3 cm length) and second is small (6,3 cm length). Is it possible that larger bone belong to Irish Elk? The latest fossils of this animal found in Siberia, they are 8000 years old. Best Regards Domas

Dear Guys, I have found the first phalanx bone of artiodactyl in the same forest felling as two calcaneum bones similar to deer. The wild ox and big deer phalanges are very similar but it would be great to know which animal it is. The size of first phalange is 5,3 cm length so it should be small wild ox or big deer (e.g. Irish Elk). Any idea what is this? Best Regards Domas
