Here is the latest rendition of my "creature corner". I decided to go Riker with some of the larger Megs. They have earned their own space! -

This is a 5.1 inch Megalodon tooth from Cuba. No repair or restoration on this one and one of those uncommon Cuban Megs with very little wear. -

This one is not your everyday Black/Grey Georgia Megalodon tooth. Very cool tooth with a tanish-white display side and different color light brown on the opposite side. Nice bourlette , serrations and tip on this one. No restoration or repair either. -

4.1 inch Summerville White Megalodon tooth

This is an all white Summerville Megalodon tooth. You don't see this color in Megs too often. Almost helps you imagine what a "modern day" Megalodon tooth would look like if there were still around today. -

Group of C. Megalodon teeth - Nature's Fossilized Art Materpieces!
Megatooth Collector posted a gallery image in Member Collections
From the album: Megalodon Collection
This is a group of relatively modest sized Megalodon teeth from Georgia, South Carolina, and Venice Beach. They range in size from 3.3 to 4.3 inches, so not the largest specimens out there. I particularly like this grouping though to show off some of the variety in colors and patterns. Truly nature's fossilized art masterpieces! -
I have seen many great looking meg teeth from various places, sizes and colors as well as price ranges. So it makes me curious, I have seen a lot of people and dealers talking about the rarity and desirability of certain specific kind of Megtooth, like Bone Valley, Lee Creek, Chilean, etc. I guess Chilean and Aurora Mine one's high prices are due to the rarity and limited supply with no more new materials entering the market. But what about the variety of colors of Megtooth like Red, Larva, Green or I have seen some with multiple colors split on the same root. Is there some kind of general consensus among serious collectors that rank a certain kind of colors to a certain degree of rarity and desirability? Or is it pretty much, purely "If I want this color, I am willing to pay $xxx"? - i.e. just due to the whim of the buyer's desirability or do certain colors have some geological or paleontological implication that makes certain colored specimens more rare and valuable? Thx

5.8 inch Multi-colored Summerville C. Megalodon Tooth

Here is a 5.8 inch Summerville Megalodon tooth, probably one of the most colorful and unique patterned teeth I have ever seen. No repair or restoration on this one either. Megalodon teeth from Summerville, South Carolina come from the Hawthorn Formation and date to the Middle Miocene Period, approximately 15 million years ago. It is known for producing some pretty amazing looking Megs. I think it was worth adding a few extra photos of this one. -

Serrations on both sides are in excellent condition. Originally when I saw photos of this tooth, I thought there were missing sections of serration. However, I could see in different photos that the serrations were still intact, just different colors as they progress towards the tip. I think it was worth adding a few extra photos of this one. -
