  3. Some of the nicer fossils from Morocco that I own. Let's start! - Set of nice spinosaurus teeth. Found in the same tunnel and layer. Only some meters away from eachother. 11 and 10.8 centimeter KemKem group, Morocco - Hainosaurus Boubker jaw pieces (dentary + snout) associated from an adult specimen. Really rare. Sidi Chennane, Oued Zem Morocco - Huge 10.6 centimeter carcharodontosaur crown with neat orane/brown like colors. KemKem group, Morocco - Set of 35 associated Otodus Obliquus teeth. Biggest one measures 8CM. Took a while to find one. El Khourigba, Morocco
  4. Hello, I am trying to get into contact with forum member @dshamilla regarding some fossils in his collection, does anyone know his whereabouts? It seems he has not been active since 2018, and I cannot reach him via PM. In my search I came across this obituary: https://chestertontribune.com/previous-articles/Obituaries 2018/david_stephen_hamilla_age_70_pas.htm Which has me wondering if this is the same person and he has passed away? If so, does anyone know of a way I can get into contact with his family, or someone who has access to his collection? Thanks.

  6. I started off in the morning checking a place out, and ended up finding one full flexicalymene roller. I left early and had intentions of putting up a couple blinds, tending some game cameras, and then going to a new spot. After putting up the blinds and replacing batteries on cameras and hanging a new one, I decided that it was too late to go fossil hunting where I wanted to. I instead headed to a well known area and happened upon a member of the forum. Jeffrey P., from New York. Neither of us were there for very long. I am not sure what all he found, possibly he will share later. I ended up finding one slightly damaged whole flexi roller and left partials. I saw a local guy, a woman from Illinois, and Jeffrey from New York. I seriously had no clue this area was so popular until joining this forum. Anyhow, Jeffrey if you read this, again, great to meet you! Stay safe out there and good luck to you!

    Hello

Hello, I'm very excited to be part of the fossil forum. I live in the UK and enjoy hunting for fossils along the South Downs, mainly marine fossils from the Cretaceous. I have recently visited the Isle of Wight, where Cretaceous and Palaeogene fossils can be found, and am particularly interested in the dinosaur remains that are found there. Thank you, W

    Hi

Hey, I’m excited to be a part of the fossil forum! I enjoy studying and hunting fossils on a general basis, so I’m glad to be a part of a community of people just like me. I will be sharing highlights from my collection in the days following, and that’s really about it. Have a wonderful day/night!

    I'm new! Hi.

Hi my name is Christopher P. K. I'm in my forties, been here for about 3 years now, I think, and I live in the low state of south Carolina. I live in an area that is rich with beauty and I have always been interested in Science but have never had any special interest in fossils because I just assumed that I'd never be that lucky. Well, I found quite a few relics, fossils, .... Bones?? Maybe? Teeth? Who knows, they may be just rocks for all I know, I'm not a scientist, nor am I any kind of expert fossil hunter. I'm hoping that someone here will find them just as interesting as I do though...even if they are just rocks. Thanks for creating this forum, I am humbly thankful that this group has chosen to share your experience, expertise, and valuable time on someone like me, truly humbled.
  14. I find skulls one of the most interesting pieces of fossil you can ever own. So here I'd love to see all of your fossil skulls, or parts of one. Here is my Pleistocene era skull of a Ursus arctos. An ice age brown bear. Very very uncommon find.

  16. Hi everyone, I am excited to join you all in what I think is an exciting, educational hobby. I am new to the hobby and hoping I can learn from all of you with much more experience than I. I’m 52 at this point and my first experience really in finding anything really was visiting NJ on business and looking to fill my down time with something involving my other passions. I ended finding the fossil beds out there and was instantly hooked.
  17. Hello and thank you for having me! Ive been haunting here for a bit and decided to join.

    Greetings and Salutations

Hello everyone! I’m Zach and am excited to have joined Fossil Forum! I do not have a ton of experience in the paleontology realm, though fossil hunting is my favorite hobby. I did go to college for planetary sciences and have some tangentially related knowledge, but I joined this community with the hopes of being able to better identify the lot of invertebrate fossils I find around my area. I’ve lurked on the site many times before and am always impressed by the wealth of knowledge here, so I look forward to learning from you all.

    Hello from Chicago

Hello! My name is Jeremy, I am a 30 year old veterinarian from Chicago. I will be moving to southwest Florida at the end of next month. I have been a long time lurker on the forum, just reading and learning as much as possible from all of the wonderful posts on this forum. I am a rather new collector of mostly dinosaur fossils, obtaining mostly teeth whenever I come across them. I have always had an obsession with dinosaurs, which has pushed me into my career. I am in the process of becoming a reptile specialist, and the big motivator for that were dinosaurs. I look forward to nervously joining more of the discussions on the forum since I found the courage to make my introduction post! All the best, Jeremy

    I don't know much!

I'm a software engineer living in London. I think ancient artifacts & fossils are super cool but don't have any knowledge on them whatsoever. My goal is to one day own a large fossil slab in my home

    Hello from SoCal!

Hello! I'm a thirteen year old avid fossil collector from SoCal! I probably should have done this introduction a while ago, but put it off until I saw @DardS8Br's also belated introduction. I'm interested in anything invertebrate, mostly trilobites. Not a lot of opportunities to collect trilos except for San Bernardino, and since I'm relatively new to fossil collecting, I haven't actually collected any fossils myself. I've already learned a lot on this forum, and i'm looking forward to learning even more in the future!

    Hello from NC

Hey from NC everybody! I'm new to fossils but have been an avid outdoor enthusiast including artifact hunting and some metal detecting (also newbie). I have had some beginner luck for starts which has deeply hooked me with shark teeth and other fossil hunting. I know very little about fossils which has led me here so it's nice to join the group and can't wait to get to know everybody.
  24. Maria C

    Hello from Milwaukee

I am new to the forum, have no educational training regarding fossils. I walk the beaches of Lake Michigan and often find interesting fossils. I spend hours self identifying my finds, but on rare occasions I am stumped and would love to gain knowledge from others.

    One Year

Found a type of rock today, quite unusual. Anyone can easily obtain it a number of ways but this one is special. A milestone. I joined this forum September 3rd 2020, knowing very little, just about the few things I've collected and very basic information. Came on with a "dinosaur footprint" and was absolutely clueless as to the species. Some kind forum members quickly showed me the way and entertained all my questions and rocks. Since then, I have learned so much. The amount of knowledge I've gotten from this forum in 365 days is crazy. Sometimes if I read my own posts I realize how my fossil knowledge has grown exponentially. It doesn't seem possible in one year and it came from all kinds of people of all ages from all parts of the world. This is not just an amazing place to learn, it is an amazing place. I mean how many places are better than being able to share your finds, ask for identifications you don't know, look at the amazing fossils other people have found, watch preparation as a fossil is awakened and all contained in a very nice forum without the problems other online platforms have. It's my milestone but it really is a big thanks to everyone who got me there. Thank you.
