    Cookiecutter Creek micromatrix

Hello there! Last year, Ken @digit generously gifted me with a bag of "Cookiecutter Creek" micromatrix and I finally found the time to search through it once! The items are really small, but I did manage to find some stuff, and I'm looking for some help with identifications. I don't think I found any cookiecutter teeth, but I did find some other interesting items - please let me know what you think - thanks! Monica I found quite a few "regular" tiny shark teeth, but here are two larger and more interesting ones: Item #1: no idea
  6. Hello, I am having some trouble IDing this tiny tooth found in some micromatrix from Sharktooth Hill. I believe I've narrowed it down to a smoothhound (Triakidae mustelus) or guitarfish (Rhinobatos) but of course others are probably possible as well. Thank you very much!
  7. 2019 has been a rather slow year for me in terms of fossilhunts. I have not been on as many as previous years. This is due to family obligations and projects. So I have had to utilize other means to satisfy my urge of finding fossil treasure. Fortunately I had a wonderful time hunting with @digit and his wife Tammy back in March. We hunted in Cookie Cutter Creek and I was sent home with a few gallons of Micromatrix. Also I won an Auction put up by @Adam86cucv. His offering included matrix from 4 different sites. While this has not been my first foray dealing with micros, I had more fun and suc

    Aguja Formation Micro Fossils

I just got some micro-matrix from the aguja formation. I starting going through it today but I am totally new to this kind of matrix. I have found a couple of things so far and some things I would like help identifying. I am not home right now so I can’t get any better photos for a little bit. I will definitely get a ruler in the next pictures.
  9. I got myself a bag of Aguja formation matrix a while back. I have been looking at it and wanting so badly to go through it, but I lack the proper sieves. Anyway, I got too curious a few days ago and used some metal mesh from a reusable coffee filter to filter about a cup of matrix down. To be honest, none of my equipment is up to par, but I’ve started a look through and it’s already fun! Will be continuing this thread till I get done with the bag, which may take a while. Updates will be periodic and this thread is mainly so I can store my information and share it but feel free to comment

    Sharktooth Hill micromatrix

Hello once again! Well, March Break has finally begun, so my daughter Viola and I decided to spend some time sorting through the Sharktooth Hill micromatrix that Ken (@digit) sent me as part of the "rolling auction" lot that I won last month. Here are some pictures of a few of the finds so far... Ray teeth? - different from the usual plates that I've seen before Cow shark (Notorynchus sp.)? Dogshark (Squalus sp.)? Marine mammal teeth? Any ideas? Cute little shark teeth in matrix - any ideas re: th
