Hello, My name's Paul and I'm currently working in the Middle East. I've always been fascinated by fossils and I joined the forum to learn from more experienced collectors. I'd also love to hear from anyone who may be living in this part of the world? I have found one or two pieces I need help identifying and I'll post these shortly. Warning, these probably aren't fossils! Regards Paul

Does anyone know the best sites for finding fossils in Israel? I am spending the summer there and want to make the most of the geology. I know there are cretaceous formations somewhere but I am not sure where specifically.

Seed-plant fossils Found in Late Permian strata of Jordan

Trilobites are common in Northern Africa and prolific in Morocco but are scarce and very hard to find in the Middle East. Despite their rarity, extensive fieldtrips in Jordan to promissing localities proved worthwhile, we literally managed to find the first articulated trilobites in the Middle East in early mid Cambrian outcrops. Following is a link to the video I made documenting fieldtrips to the beautiful locality and some of the finds, enjoy.

Here's another type of fossil that came in the same formation as the ones I posted in the Middle East forum under 'Ammonites? They're roundish anyway...' . And thanks again to Ludwigia for the information on those fossils! I read the points on posting images and I apologize for this one being a little washed out. I'm at the mercy of my camera, though.
