Hi all, I recently found the items below at Calvert Cliffs State Park (A-F) and Matoaka Beach (G-I) in Maryland (both Miocene exposures). Image scales are in inches. I'm not sure what these are. Could some or all of them be coprolites? If so, any ideas as to what kinds of animals they came from? Thanks for your help!

I could use some help with the ID of this ornate little find from the Cookie Cutter matrix from Florida. I have considered ray tooth and shark or ray dermal denticles...@Al Dente @MarcoSr Thanks for looking.

Through the years I've found these very small horse teeth in SE Texas. In the photo the 2 center teeth are each 16 mm wide as measured across the width of the crown, the rightmost tooth 19 mm. I know these pre-equus teeth can be difficult to ID. Anyone out there can help? @Harry Pristis @Shellseeker @garyc

Hey everyone! I could use some help narrowing down whether these are fish teeth or something else entirely. They came from a Miocene site in Florida, and that's all of the information I have. Sorry if the photos aren't great, I'm not good at micro photography lol.

This bone was found on Azov See shore, Russia. Probable geological age is late Neogene (Miocene or Pliocene). I don't know what this thing is: metacarpal, metatarsal or calcaneus? What a strange hooked process on the proximal epiphysis that is not characteristic of the metapodium? I'd like to get your opinion.

Hi guys! I went out with one of my kids today to the Calvert Cliffs to see what we could find after the thunderstorms this week. We hit the beach around 9:00 and spent about 4 hours. It was calm with very clear water and favorable tide conditions. We weren't disappointed. We found a bit of eveything--some decent makos, hemis, and tigers, a couple of verts, some turtle shell, croc skin (I think), a mostly complete ecphora, a cookie fragment, some cool bone, and other stuff. We didn't find anything enormous, but we were happy with the variety. Enjoy the pic. If anyone has any idea what the delicate jawbone fragment might be from (bottom center), please chime in. I haven't found anything that small before.

Hello everyone! New member, just joined today. Great to be here! I live in Huntingtown, Maryland in Calvert County. Lots of Meg teeth and Miocene era fossils. Was trying to get some help identifying these mammal teeth. I found them on the Patuxent River right up from where I live on an embankment that backs up to a cliff. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Have been told Camel but not sure.

Good day, fellow TFF'ers! I need your help in identifying this tooth. It was "seeded" in a bag of Florida matrix I received from the forum's owner through his website. The matrix is only described as from the Miocene, and the seeded material from Eocene to Pleistocene, all from Florida. I have searched for hours online as to what this tooth might have belonged to and have come up with nothing. I'm sure at least one of you will know immediately, so please, help a girl out in giving this tooth its identity back.

However it is longer and not as robust. While no guarantees ever, I find few horse teeth, but the ratio is 10 pre_Equus to 1 Equus. Definitely Pliocene/Miocene indicators.

I visited my favorite shark tooth site in the Miocene Burdigalian again today and made a few nice finds along with something that has me scratching my head. I'm pretty sure it's a partial mammal tooth, but have no idea what it might be. It seems to be from quite a small ruminant anyway, judging by the chewing surface, measuring in at 7mm. wide x 6mm. high. I checked out @Harry Pristis albums, but couldn't find a match. I've posted views from first the chewing surface, then 2 sideviews, the root and the last one is the side which appears to be broken. Any ideas anyone?

Hi. I found my 1st North Myrtle teeth. Can I please get an ID of the bottom one. The root and blade seem to be from 2 different teeth... Sorry for the bad pic. No camera other than my cell phone. The blade has some very fine serrations. It's a pretty tooth. Thanks. Andy

I have a 20 year relationship with the little beach at westmoreland state park, and despite the fact that it was crawling with moms, dads, and kids today, it still gave up some nice pieces.

My dad was digging up a rib bone, then I spotted a speck of black next to it, and we found this killer! It's about the same size as my first one, 3.5". And check out the size of this second rib bone (the pic with the spade blade) what could this be from???

Found last week in a "mixture" environment that has Pleistocene and Miocene fossils, more of the latter. Curious because the root end (photo #1) seems to have an odd dentine, cementum circular pattern. Curious because the tip (photo #2) seems to have a narrow enamel or dentine covering over a core Curious because in photo #3 , right at the break, there appear to be small "crimps" Curious because I have not seen a fossil tooth like this one. My initial reaction was canine, but incisor is a possibility. All assistance and/or suggestions are greatly appreciated. Jack

I found this along Calvert cliffs area north of Matoaka Cabins. I not sure what kind of bone it is or what it is from after trying to research.
