https://www.moroccoworldnews.com/2021/02/335798/discovery-of-2-5-million-year-old-macaque-fossil-in-morocco/ The macaques, commonly known as the Barbary Ape, though they are monkeys, still live in Morocco's cedar forests and can also be found in Gibraltar, the only monkeys in Europe, allegedly taken there by the Moors during their invasion of Spain in the eighth century. Hello, I recently found this small tooth (just under 1cm long). At first, I thought it might just be a weird crocodile tooth, since those are common here in Ruwais, Abu Dhabi, but upon further inspection, I saw that the tooth was hollow, unlike crocodile's teeth. Tiny Tooth of 15 Million Year Old New World Monkey Found in Amazon Basin
Scylla posted a topic in Fossil News
Tiny creature almost as small as pygmy Marmoset https://m.phys.org/news/2019-07-world-smallest-fossil-monkey-amazon.html -
The tag on the box that I picked this out of (silver pick) identified it as, you guessed it, petrified monkeypuzzle wood with shipworm borings. The ID seems right but it's such a beautiful piece I wondered if anyone has any further thoughts.

Fossil Primate Jaw Identifacation,Chimpanzee, Gigantopithecus???
AustraliaFossils posted a topic in Fossil ID
Hi guys, I was wondering if any of you could help me ID this fossil. I have done some research into it and know it is from some sort of primate, The seller doesn't know much about it except that he found it at a curio shop on the Texas Oklahoma border in the early 1960's. Any help would be much appreciated. I have listed some pictures below to help with the process. Thanks, Ryan- 2 replies

http://www.iflscience.com/plants-and-animals/ancient-monkey-blood-found-fossilized-in-amber/ For the first time, fossilized mammal blood, probably from a 20 to 30 million-year-old monkey, has been found in amber. Ok, it's not quite Jurassic Park, but OligocenePark would probably be safer. In the meantime, we're learning about the evolution of parasites, and maybe something about primate development as well. Emeritus Professor George Poinar, who proposed the idea of resurrecting extinct creatures from DNA in amber, has produced some astonishing discoveries lately, including ins
