I found this yesterday at the Montour Fossil Pit, it unfortunately didn’t want to come out even close to one piece but I’ve been looking and cannot figure out what it is. Maybe someone else can identify easily??

I found this yesterday in my searches at the Montour fossil pit in Danville pa. I think it is a squid but wouldn’t mind help identifying it. The third picture is the opposite side of the rock. Thanks everyone!

Another fun trip to the Montour Fossil Pit Yesterday
MeisTravis posted a topic in Fossil Hunting Trips
Had another successful trip yesterday to Montour. It’s only my second time going but I really enjoy this place. Figured I’d share my finds with all of you! Partial stem? Clam that was still in the rock, this one actually was nice compared to what I normally find 4 small Pleurodictyum I found, top right is still pretty well encased A really nice shell, possibly oyster?- 9 replies

I have a fossil I attempted to get identified to no avail unfortunately, but I would still like to see if I can possibly expose it more. I removed it from the shale at the Montour fossil pit in Danville, PA. It has a lot of that orange rock like material(sorry about not knowing proper terminology ) and I was wondering if there is any good method to expose it more and make it all nice and pretty . Would it best to attempt to remove it from the rest of the rock of leave some attached to it? All help is greatly appreciated thanks in advance!
