Hi everyone! I’m an amateur fossil collector who wants to collect and learn more about fossils and hope to learn more through this forum. Growing up I’ve always been fascinated by dinosaurs and sharks in particular. Today I went to a fossil show and found a vertebra that I found particularly fascinating. I bought it not knowing exactly what it was so I can chase the thrill of learning what it is and why. The man I had purchased it from had said it was from a spinosaurus. However, I’m skeptical because he was also marketing a tooth as an allosaurus tooth. He was honest man and had told me that he wasn’t exactly sure what kind of tooth it was. Later, I found out the tooth in fact belonged to a carcharodontosaurus based on the matrix. Luckily I didn’t spend money on what was thought to be an allosaurus tooth. Nor did I spend too much on the vertebra. Now I don’t have a lot of information to go off of. I’m not quite sure where exactly the vertebra came from nor do I know how the gentleman came to own it. All I do have are the photos that I took of it. Judging from the looks of it, it does seem to have come from Morocco based on the color and other specimens I have seen. I also tried to study the skeleton of a spinosaur to see if I could ID it using reference photos. It’s difficult to tell but if it did come from a spinosaur, I’m thinking it’s part of the neck. Anyways, if I could get some help that would be great! Bonus points if you could tell me which part of the animal it came from.

Good evening, these vertebrae are announced as spinosaurid, but it's posible to know just with the centrum preserved? At Kem Kem beds there are a lot of other reptiles so, it's posible to know with incomplete material like these?

Hi guys, I'm interested in this Metacanthina issoumourensis from Morocco. According to the seller it has no restoration. It seems that the rest looks good, but I do not know if there may be something in the cephalon. as you see ?

i have been compiling an osteological analysis of this turtle skull unfortunately despite research i have no idea what species it is. due to poor cataloging when first discovered all that is known about the fossil is that it was found in Oued Zem morocco.

So I needed a lot of Spinosaur teeth and cheap since they were going to be a gift for kids 13-14 years old as a part of a school project. I contacted a known online shop which sells at a discount if you buy similar to seen instead of actual as seen. I think that I got a bit scammed. Maybe not, is just that these teeth looks a lot more (for me) as crocodile than Spinosaur. I know that there are a lot and the pics are not that good, but I really need just to know if some of them are in fact not Spinosaur since then I would cancel the gift. I can't just give fake information at a school project.

I’m looking for some information regarding this crinoid. It looks typical of the fossil crinoids I’ve seen from Morocco but I’d really appreciate a more learned perspective. A family member is thinking of acquiring this specimen. Only photo I have unfortunately. Thanks. @Tidgy's Dad

Hi members. I am a new member and developing a collection. Currently I am looking at a sample I am seeing online. They have incorrectly identified as Barrandeops. I have one and this definitely is not that species. The one I am displaying has no eyes. It comes on a matrix with other specimens, but this one picture is the best of the group. I would appreciate if someone can identify this Moroccan fossil. It is not smooth at all, or are the others.
