I have another very small fossil from the Moscow Group at the Penn Dixie Park in Erie County New York. I believe this is the long-spined ostracod Aechmina, but I am open to other suggestions (trilobite piece, brachiopod spine, etc???). This is very small as you can see in the measurements below (less than 1 mm) and is in the matrix, I have scraped away as much matrix as I dare at the moment and to me the lower edge in the pictures looks like it is a natural (unbroken) edge and is the end of the fossil. I would like to expose a bit more at the top, where the hinge line should be if it is an ostracod, but have not dared to do that yet due to small size and potential fragility. @Acryzona has shown a specimen of this genus from the Devonian at Paulding (https://www.thefossilforum.com/gallery/image/57600-aechminajpg/) and Hall in a very old publication reported the genus from the Devonian of New York (the old drawing did not look much like this specimen), but I have not found any specific mention of it from Penn Dixie. Any Penn Dixie or ostracod experts, or anyone else care to voice an opinion? I appreciate all suggestions.

Good evening folks. I am working on curating my middle Devonian collection using the field guide book by K.A. Wilson. It is very helpful and has saved me tons of time, highly recommend. I am posting below a few of the fossils that I could not quite figure out using the book and was hoping for help. A few of these may be unsolved repeats from past posts. I realize this may be a lot so very much appreciated in advance. 1. Locality Livingston County Two pieces of the same broken fossil 2. Deep Springs 3. Deep Springs 4. Deep Springs 5. Deep Springs 6. Erie Co. 7. Penn Dixie 8. Erie Co. 9. Penn Dixie

Hi all! Please tell me this is more than a concretion! Edit to add location: Found in Lansing, NY. The matrix is a dark grey/black shale that breaks under it's own weight when I lift pieces and it breaks off into big chunks unlike thinner layered shale also in the area. I think I see crinoid stems and wonder if there are other fossils (Hallotheca acils ?) under a shallow layer of sediment making the cone shape appear to have rounded sides or is this something completely different (I think I've been finding nice molds of Hallotheca acils in close proximity to where I found this guy today). I hope to return tomorrow and find the other half to try and glean more information from the molded half. It was the only fossil in this piece of stone but I found two species of Rugosa and multiple species of Brachiopods in similar stones lying within a foot of it. It's delicate and I've wrapped it in wet paper towels and placed in a shallow dish with water. The entire item measures 2cm wide x 8 cm long. Thank you for your time
