Do you own a nautilus/nautili that was found/purchased from the Isle of Sheppey in Kent, UK? If you do please can you help me to compile a bit of information. I would be extremely grateful if anyone with a Sheppey nautilus could let me know the location the specimen now resides in (Museum, County, State, Province etc) and if possible a picture of the specimen with the species name if known. Also if you have seen one in a museum please can you let me know which museum. Myself and another collector on the Island were talking about how prolific the Sheppey London clay has been over the years and this raised the question on how far spread the Sheppey fossils may be. I will start things off with my own little collection of Sheppey nautili, still at home on the island. Many thanks in advance for any information you can provide!

My first time back hunting since surgery. I'm not 100 % yet but I had a good morning hunt in Tarrant County TX. It was my first time hunting a different location besides NSR so it was fun. I found a nice variety of Spiral (Mariella) Ammonites, Echinoids and Nautilus. I had to leave the huge ammonite My hammer was no match. :/

Hello! Would anyone have any clue what this fossil is or if it is even a fossil? It was found on the top side of a rock in northern Tennessee, about 1/4 of a mile up a hill from a creek-bed.

I bought this fossil at the Nature's Gallery in Carrollton. Not sure if it's an ammonite or a nautilus. Also can somebody tell me the difference between the two and how to distinguish them? sorry for bad quality.

It was a warm Christmas Eve down in South Texas (Bexar County). I was home from school, bored, and looking for things to do. So, I decided to go out and dig for some fossils. I went down to my spot that I have been going to for many years. This spot always has something for me to find, and this time was no different. After about 15 minutes of looking, I found what I was looking for, an ammonite. As to what species this ammonite is I haven't a clue. If any of yall have some idea as to what species it is please fill me in. I found it in either Buda limestone or the Austin Chalk. I also found what I think is a Eutrephoceras nautiloid over the summer from this exact same spot. It took me two days to get this bad boy out of the rock layer, but it was so worth it. The reason being was that it was pretty much a complete nautiloid. This nautilus was found in either Buda limestone or the Austin Chalk as well. Any other information that you guys and gals care to share is always welcome. Thanks, Walk

Here are all my unknowns from the past few months of collecting and snapping pics before joining the forum. Some are weathered, but any help identifying is greatly appreciated The first two are glen rose formation dino prints about 16 inches from heel to to toe. The third is a nautilus (eutrepoceras?) from central san antonio i extracted from a soft limestone boulder. Its about 9 inches across and the lower of the three well-defined sutures i think is eroded into a deeper curve than it would have originally had.
