  1. Hello, I found this on my parents land in a pile of dirt they dug up. They live in Milesburg, PA. The object from this picture is about a foot long and about 4-5 inches in width. It has some kind of texture on the top of it, which you can see from the photos. It also has what looks like skin texture on the sides of it? The markings/holes on both sides seem to be in the same spots. The bottom of it fell off, so I included a pic of where it broke off from and what it looks like inside. It is also very heavy.
  2. I found this in Schoharie County. Having a hard time figuring out what it is. Any help would be wonderful.
  3. Found this interesting coral fossil in Schoharie County and am hoping someone here can ID it. I am new to this and am still learning. Thank you in advance.
  4. This unknown partial jaw and molars came from a box of rocks at a garage sale in Minnesota. Scale is metric. My SWAG is a smaller sized Oreodont?

    Lizard jaw?

Found this yesterday on a hill close to shipwreck beach, Ruwais, UAE. I think it looks like a lizard jae, I found a couple pieces of tortiose shell fragments. I know it is difficult to id things from here, but you guys can tell me what you think it could be. I think it is about miocene age.

    Is this poop?

These are also from Calvert Cliffs (Maryland). I’m not sure if they’re just rocks or poop.

    Unknown item

I found something but I have no clue. Can someone help me out? It’s a hard rock.

    Crocodile scute? And more

Hello again. After I discovered a big fossilized bone on a hill close the Shipwerck beach in Ruwais, I decided to go searching in the same area for more fossils. I found all of these on relatively the same layer of the hill. I assume they are from the miocene. The first one looks like a crocodile scute. The second one looks like a shell from a tortoise. The third one I am not sure of. I would appreciate confirmation and a possible id. I know UAE fossils can be a bit tricky.

    Fossil fish id

I recently bought this fossil fish at a shop. I don't know where it comes from, how old it is, or what type of fish it is. The guy that worked at the shop told me it might have came from Brazil, but he wasn't sure. The fossil itself appears to be in a clay/sandstone-like concreation.

    Fossil seed pod?

Some friends of ours found this very strange fossil a few years ago, they don't remember where they found it. I would appreciate it if you guys could give an id so that I can let them know what they have found.

    Mammal Teeth From The Desert

Here are some more late miocene fossils I found close to Shipwerck beech/Hamra 1. The small tooth is about 40mm long, I am hoping it belongs to a monkey, since there have only been 2 other monkey teeth found in the UAE. It might just be a rodent, but I want to make sure, the larger tooth was found almost at the exact same spot. I hope you guys can get an Id for them.

    North Texas Find

Howdy! I live in North Texas (Denton County) by a really interesting area geologically and I found this thing while cleaning trash out of the creekbed today. I'm not sure if it's even a fossil but it's been one of the coolest things I've found (usually I only find Gryphaea and old pottery). Birding is usually my thing so I figured I might as well ask some people who know better! Let me know if y'all need better photos. Thanks in advance for the help!

    Late Miocene Bone

I found this fossil close to a known fossil site Hamra 1. Most of the fossils there are from late miocene. I have picked up crocodile scutes, fish bones, and many other things at the same location. People have found hyena bones, relatives of ostriches, bovids, and many other animals near the spot. The fossil itself has a few cracks in it that I did not see before removal, so some pieces where broken off. I picked up all the pieces I could see and glued them back on at home.

    Leg bone? Unusual UAE fossil

I found this fossil today on a hill close to a beach called shipwreck beach in Ruwais, Abu Dhabi. I have not found anything quite like this before. Hope it can be identified. My geusse is leg bone, but it looks a lot like a jaw with no teeth. I'm no sure about the time period, most fossils here seem to be from miocene.

    Possible fish skull

Hello again. I found this strange bone on the beach in abu dhabi ruwais. I am not sure if it is a fossil, it is ver porous. It is about 1.5cm thick The beach was man made, so I am not sure exactly where this might of came from.

    Possible plant need id

I found this possible plant fossil. I am hoping for an id. Accompanying this fossil are brachiopods and other marine fossils. This fossil came from the Otter Formation in central Montana. The Otter Formation is listed as an open and semi-restricted marine. This formation is Meramecian and Chesterian Mississippian. The plant appears to be fibrous. No scale structure is present. In very fine sedimentary silty clay shale. These sediments capture fine details. I have included a photo of another fossil group of bryozoa to show the level of preservation of details.

    Bone found in UAE

I found this weird looking rock yesterday on a man made beach in Ruwais, Abu Dhabi. I have never seen anything like it here in the UAE. It appears to be a pieces of bone in/on top of some hardened clay. On the underside there are small shells stuck inside. I would be glad to find out more about this mysterious rock.
  18. MrBones

    Marine tooth

Hello. I found this tooth on the beach today. I think it might be from a whale or a seal, not quite sure. I do not think it is fossilized, but you guys might know what it is.

    Possible wood fossil

Hello, I just want to say, know it isn't allowed to pick up fossils here in South Africa since it belongs to the state, but the state does not care nor want these fossils, so I have decided to help conserve the fossils by donating them to a local soon-to-be-built museum in our town. So anyways here is the fossil. It was picked up on the main beach of Yzerfontein. So.e of you might be familiar with the West Coast Fossil Park located a few miled away from the town. The fossil looks like a piece of wood. And I managed to break of what seems to be a thorn.

    Trilobite id

Hello again, I have bought a lot of fossils, but don't know all of their id's. So I would love it if someone could help me with my problem. Here is a little trilobite I bought at Magic Minerals near Cape Town, SA. It is just under two centimeters long.
  21. MrBones

    Echinoid id

Hello again, here is my most beautiful sand dollar fossil. We picked it up yesterday on a beach close to Ruwais, Abu Dhabi, UAE. I have found dozens of these, but rarely find one so flat. I would love to know the species name if possible.

    Shells in the desert

Hello, I found these shells while driving in the dunes in the middle of the desert. I have found fossilized wood and coral close to the location before. They are unfortunately covered in a weird sandstone like material but I hope you can help me identify them. Found near Ruwais, Abu Dhabi, UAE.
  23. MrBones

    Fossil bone id

I found a sawfish rostrum a while ago, and today I found this piece of bone, it was found in the same location. Abu Dhabi, UAE The bone is slightly curved, I think it might be the filled canal of a sawfish rosstrum, but I might be wrong. I would like to hear from you guys.
  24. MrBones

    Crinoids and corals?

I found these fossils on Jebel Hafeet, Al Ain, UAE. The second rock looks like there is a criniod in it, but is more possibly a type of sponge. The first rock has quite a few things in it, including some type of coral. I would like to know what these really are.

    Big vertebra

My friend has found a lot of fossils, but he doesn't know what they are. This one is some sort of vertebra. My friend found it in south africa. (Scale in cm)
