Hi everyone, I found this fossil at the beach in the Netherlands in the province of Zeeland. It looks like a shell but I would like to know more about it! Thanks!

Hi all, A friend of mine found these in a quarry in Limburg, near Maastricht, many years ago. The exact location is unknown, but it was found in very bright, loose sand (maybe that rings a bell). I suspect they are concretions, but I am not sure. Any info and insights are welcome! Thanks!

Hello, i have this still unlabled mammal tooth in my collection. I found it in Zaanse Schanz, Netherlands on a path named : de kwakels. Rigth next to the finding location is a sheep pasture, so its probably a modern sheep tooth.

Hi Everyone, I am completely new to the forum but have loved fossils since I was a kid holidaying on the Jurassic Coast in the UK. I was searching for potential fossil sites in the Netherlands and went to Zandmotor (Den Haag, Netherlands) hoping to discover a complete Mammouth Skull. Sadly this hasn't happened yet, but I found numerous interesting finds (which I photographed below). My girlfriend and I have managed to identify most of them however I am having trouble identifying the second picture of the (brown pointed pieces). I think they could be fossilised wood (they look wooden to me but then part of me thinks they could be bone - ribs perhaps). Of course, they could just be nothing at all. My Girlfriend's 9-year-old daughter now has to know what they are, so I thought I would ask some experts. I would love any input on this as this is not something I have encountered before. Any help would be gratefully received. Many thanks in advance Mickey

Hello everyone, A whole new world has opened up to me! I had no idea this fascinating hobby was so accessible. Today, I embarked on an adventure with my children to search for fossils for the first time. We headed to the 2nd Maasvlakte in Zuid-Holland, The Netherlands. We found a few intriguing items, but we’re not entirely sure what they are. I’m hoping you all could help us identify them. 1. The first item appears to be a vertebra. Based on the photos, can anyone suggest what kind of animal it might have belonged to? 2. The second item looks like it could be a tooth, but I might be too hopeful, and it’s just a stone. I’m eager to hear your thoughts. 3. The third item is firmly believed by my daughter to be a bone ;-). I was skeptical and thought it might just be a stone, but the two round indentations have me doubting. I promised I would ask here. We would greatly appreciate any information or guidance you can provide. Thank you so much in advance! Best regards, Michael

Hi everyone, My name is Rob, I'm a 21 year old biology student from the Netherlands and I've recently rekindled my passion for fossils. After browsing this forum for a while I decided to become a member! I currently own a handful of fossils, ranging from the Pleistocene to the Carboniferous (including a plant fossil I found myself at a former coal mine). I'm looking forward to learning more about fossils identification, ethical fossil hunting and paleontology in general
