  1. Once again it's time for the Paradoxides to dust off the top hat and ring in the new year. I'm eagerly looking forward to another great year of spectacular fossil treasures at TFF! Happy New Year 2024!
  2. Traditionally in early January one reviews where one is, and sets goals for the coming year. So as the topic says: What are your palaeontological goals for 2023 ? For myself: I don't get out collecting much. So I would like to go into the field at least once this year. Also, I seem to have added Ammonites to the list of fossils I concentrate on. I want to add a few more, and of course do the research surrounding that.
  3. It's done... 2022. What was your most beautiful asset this year? May be a find, purchase, trade, or gift. Be careful not to name sellers A very good and safe new year to everyone and a great 2023!
  4. Happy New Year 2023 TFF Friends! It's been a long, sometimes tough year for me, but one that was still full of learning, fossils and this wonderful community here on TFF. We from Russia, Ukraine and the other republics celebrate the New Year's Eve, similar to how people here in the US celebrate Christmas, today we are gathered with friends and family and tomorrow we get to exchange gifts. I'm currently with my family and some friends enjoying some pelmeni and other foods. I hope that everyone here on TFF has had a wonderful Holiday season, and am wishing all of you a fantastic, fossiliferous 2023. Thank you all for making this community such a wonderful place! Misha

    Happy 2021

2021 simply must be better than the old one. I made a calendar from pictures taken on a trip to Colorado in October, 2010. The first one is my shadow for the front of the calendar.

    Happy New Year

Just a few minutes ago, my clock just changed from 11:59 PM 12/31/2018 to 12:00 AM 1/1/2019. Happy New Year to my fellow TFF friends and members!!! ~Macrophyseter

  12. Hey everyone, This New Year we will be going to Berlin, and we'll stay a few days there to visit the city and the area. If possible, we would like to do some fossil hunting one day. Does anyone know of any good, still accessible locations not too far from there? This time of the year it's really cold (in The Hague it's already freezing, and Berlin is probably twice as cold due to it being much more inland), and I wouldn't be too surprised if there is some snow too, so it would be good to know which locations are still relatively easy to access and hunt at under these conditions. I found this location nearby, Rüdersdorf, which seems accessible. I also found this one that is not too far away, Bad Freienwalde, but from the website it appears that parts of it are closed now? I also have no clue how the fossil hunting at these locations goes, so any advice on tools, techniques, where and how to look, etc would be really useful Preferably not a location that is much more than an hour's car ride away from Berlin please... @Ludwigia @belemniten Roger and Sebastian, I hope you don't mind me tagging you in this, I know you two have done lots of fossil hunting in Germany, maybe you have some tips you'd be willing to share? Thanks in advance everyone! Max
