I found this coral in central Kentucky. Many are mostly free of any matrix. I am planing to put them in small glass display boxes to give as holiday gifts. Should I leave them as-is? Or can I brighten them up somehow, without taking away their character? They have all been found in an old rail road cut. The matrix around the other fossils appears to be mostly sandstone, with some in limestone. I took a few pictures of the loose coral and some still in matrix. All have been found within ~75 yard radius. I haven’t prepared them in anyway, other than sitting in the rain. My plan is to go over them with a toothbrush, then warm soapy water with a brushing. Thanks in advance for any suggestions, thoughts or opinions.

Hello all. I'm a rock and mineral guy but am becoming more interested in fossils and have been able to fossil hunt in a few states over the past two years. I was hunting on the Peace River after a business trip two weeks ago and The Fossil Forum kept coming up as I was discussing credible, well respected resources with a few experienced individuals in the river with me. I'm looking forward to increasing my fossil knowledge and plan to use this forum as one way to do that. Thanks in advance for everyone who is willing to share their knowledge, whether here or elsewhere.

Hi all, I am just restarting a hobby I had back as a pre-teen. I had an Aunt that lived in Arkona. During many visits there I always went to Rook Glen. I had a little collection back then, but it is gone. Recently I started to collect fossils again. Mostly online purchases. I have acquired many trilobites. I have become so interested that now I am joining the London club. I want to go out and do field trips. I want to learn all I can about this hobby. Another avenue I am doing with the quality objects is 3D scanning and printing. I will post my re-creations and the originals in time. I will work on the profile and choose an avatar soon.

Hi, I just got back from a family trip to folly Beach and found my first sharks teeth. I looked for hours, finding nothing and then found 6 in 5 minutes, followed by hours of nothing. I am very excited and thankful for the ones I found, but is this common? I also need help with ID from the experts. Thank you so much.
