I recently found this crocodile tooth from the Elrhaz Formation for sale, and I was wondering whether it would be possible to identify to a genus or species level. It would appear that the only crocodilians in the Tegama group that had teeth even remotely similar to the one shown below are Stolokrosuchus and Sarcosuchus. Though insofar as I can see Sarcosuchus had much more robust teeth than Stolokrosuchus, it would appear that there is much variation, so I thought it would be worth running it by the experts first. Thanks in advance for any guidance Othniel

Yay, i finally got my hands on a nice Eocarcharia tooth from the Elhraz formation, Niger ! Its 3,5 cm in length and the broken end is quite smooth. Has anyone an Idea why ? It's as smooth as glass. Are there any rivers running through that formation which could have possibly sanded it down? Thanks to hear some of yours ideas!

Hello, i wanted to share some pictures of my new Theropod teeth for my collection. They're both Kryptops palaios teeth from Niger, they seem to be very rare. What do you think about them? sice : 2-3 cm

With the recent marktet and the introduction of Suchomimus tenerensis teeth, i was wondering what are your biggest and best Suchomimus teeth from there? I currently own a serrated and partially rooted tooth that is close to 3.5 inches. But show me all of yours!

I bought a dinosaur claw from Niger. Locality is always a problem, but I am hoping to get an general label on this claw. So far I got two suggestions from my own network: it looks like a Sauropod claw or Iguanodontian. Most sauropod claws in my collection are 'flatter' (vertical) and more oval. This claw more round and flat (horizontal). The claw is 12 cm (long) and 5 cm (high). Hope to get some more insights on this nice claw. Thanks!

A collector is selling some of his collection and one of the pieces I am interested in one of these two Ankylosaur specimens labeled from Cretaceous Niger. However to my understanding the only Ankylosaur described from Africa is from the Middle Jurassic in Morocco. Are these from sm Ankylosaur at least even if local can't 109% be verified? @jpc @hadrosauridae

I posted a topic in the prep subforum, but I guess it's also a general question. I notice that a lot of dinosaur claws from Niger have raised patches of black material on them and I'm wondering what this is. Is it hard rock/matrix attached to the bone or are they remnants of the original bone. Sometimes they seem to have some bone texture, other times they are very rough and rugose. Here are a few photos of what I mean. @LordTrilobite@jpc

I am really considering aquiring this claw. I would have to sell some stuff for it but I really want to be sure. Handclaw of a Suchomimus. Niger. Besides the obvious repair and prep it needs. Do you guys see issues or things to avoid?

Howdy all, I'm interested in this tooth which has the ID of "Afrovenator abakensis," though the seller makes sure to note that this is not a concrete ID. I'm curious as to how I'd be able to identify this as a megalosaur and possibly an afrovenator. Locality is Nafanfo, Agadez, Niger.

Hello together, Munich Show is over and I’ve made some purchases I would like to have your expertise on… This tooth was labeled as “sauropod” from the Tiouraren Ffm, Agadez, Niger. As far as I was able to figure out the only sauropod found there was Jobaria, or am I wrong? Which would let me label it at least “Macronaria indet.” or even “Jobaria”? I am looking forward to your thoughts. :-)

This is advertised as a Sauropod claw from Niger, no further locality listed. The morphology does seem kind of correct, but I have my doubts and something seems a bit off to me. Any opinions?

Howdy all, I'm interested in this Afrovenator abakensis tooth and am curious if it's legit. It was found in the Middle Jurassic Irhazer Shale of Agadez, Niger and is 1.3" long.

Hi Guys, I recently got some photos from a friend of mine who bought these teeth from Niger. When he bought them, the seller told him that there is at least one tooth of Kryptops, Eocarcharia and Afrovenator in this lot, but he wanted to be sure. What do you think? In my opinion the first is from Afrovenator, the second and third from Eocarcharia, and about the last I'm not so sure. Thank you in advance.

This is a decent sized footclaw from Niger. I do get they are very hard to identify with species and that is not what I'm after. I am however after if its a Theropod claw or a Sauropod?

Spinosaurid claw looks odd to me; maybe I'm seeing things?

A friend sent me these pics of a claw that interests him. These are all the pics we have for now, and it's only identified as "Spinosaurid, Niger". The source says that the area in green is restored with carved bone, but it looks all carved to me. What think the group? Thanks! -
Hello, The ambiguity of age and material from Niger aside, I wasn't 100% sure if these were sauropod teeth, or if they were the similar looking ornithocherid pterosaurs. It doesn't help that the teeth and most the outer enamel have been worn down by the sands. Locale: Gadoufaoua, Niger (not that this really has any weight behind it as we all know by now); though the sand matrix seems exclusive to the Cretaceous deposits. Measurement in cm. Hello, I hope someone can help identify this claw from Niger. As with almost all material from Niger, information about where it was found is not available. But I hope someone has an idea based on the external features. So far, two possible options have been mentioned for this approximately 4 cm / 1.6 inches theropod claw. The options are two theropods that fall within the Noasauridea family. Option 1 is an Afromimus (Elrhaz formation, early Cretaceous) and option 2 is a Spinostropheus (Tiouraren, middle Jurassic). There's Hematite on the claw. Hope someone has an idea. Thanks in advance! - Mike

I was given these teeth by a friend many many years ago and they were identified as plesiosaur teeth. They are from Niger, Africa. I looked and found no record of plesiosaurs ever being found in Niger. I also did a bit of compairing with other plesiosaur teeth and found no match. One of them looks to me to be from a suchomimus or some other spinosaur (judging by the grooves on the tooth). The other two look to be from some sort of crocodyloform, possibly stolokrosuchus.

Hi! This compressed, incomplete tooth is 2,9 cm long and has fluting and tiny serrations of the right dimensions for a Suchomimus tooth. Yet it does look quite different than some other Suchomimus teeth I have seen online, so I would love to hear your opinions. The location given is Gadoufaoua, Tenere Desert, Niger, Elrhaz Fm. Thanks!

Is anyone able to actually ID a claw like this? It is 9CM straight. Footclaw or handclaw even? Niger claw as you can see. And I am aware there is not that much information to ID a claw. But this one is pretty much complete.

Hello, I recently Bought these two sauropod teeth from the middle Jurassic of Niger. The teeth were labeled as Spinophorosaurus but they could still be Jobaria. Thanks for any help.

Hope someone can ID this claw from Niger. The seller says it was found in Gadoufaoua (Elrhaz Formation). But fossils often mix by the diggers. I don't know if the information is correct. It would be helpfull if someone can tell if its sauropod (as the seller claims) or if the fossil claw is theropod. Thanks for the help!
