I’ve had these three Ptychodus teeth for awhile but hadn’t made any serious attempts at ID. I’m finally starting to work on the Ptychodus display though so it’s probably time to ID them. They are all Niobrara Chalk teeth. 2 from Smoky Hill, 1 Fort Hays Limestone. First up is the Fort Hayes tooth. Roughly 6mm wide so quite small and very flat crown. It does appear to have a circular pattern so I thought perhaps polygyrus/marginalis but I’m not at all confident in that as an ID.

Found this fragment in a Niobrara chalk outcropping in southeast SD. Entire rock is about the length of a pen cap, clip included. It has some indentations on the top edge that I think resemble a crinoid imprint, but I'm obviously not sure. Back isn't pictured, but nondescript. Advice would be appreciated!

Found these five mysteries in an outcropping of Niobrara chalk in southeast SD. I think they resemble sponges or coral, though I'm well aware that they may not be. The four sand-colored ones are all roughly the diameter of a penny, though the first pic is a little larger. The red-stained one is about the diameter of a nickel. Thanks in advance!

Getting Permission from Landowners regarding Western Kansas

Hello all. I try and go fossil hunting as often as possible and I really want to get back out in the Niobrara chalk in western Kansas. I’ve only hunted out there one time on a state 4-H trip and it was the most fun I’ve ever had. However I do know that most of, if not all of the land the chalk is on is owned privately. I’m not sure the best way to get in contact with landowners about asking permission. If I lived closer I would just drive out there and ask around, but I live in eastern Kansas so it is a minimum 5-6 hour drive out there. Is there any reliable way of figuring out who owns land and the best way to ask them? Thanks for any and all help in advance.

Well, we've had Brachiopods and Trilobites, so I figured let's give fish a try! I am going to start this off with my Enchodus marchesettii from the Hakel Quarry of Lebanon. Not only is this fossil 100% complete with the only restoration done was repairing the matrix itself, but I received this from one of my good friends on none other than my birthday! This is my favorite fossil in my ENTIRE collection! More will come from the Greenriver side of my collection, I just gotta get my camera fixed
