Found in middleburg Florida. I generally just hunt for round rocks to epoxy but this one was stood out. There are actually a lot more like it but this is the only one with definition. Really just curious if someone knows anything about what it might be.

Milwaukee formation mystery fossil. Find a load like these
SilurianSalamander posted a topic in Fossil ID
I find lots of these external moulds/trace fossils at the Milwaukee formation I hunt at. Any ideas? I’m stumped. Devonian terrestrial and marine deposit -
Hello we are the Placers. These were found at Crystal park, MT. I just thought they were neat rocks but when I started trying to take the crystals out of them I notice what looked like an eye socket and skin. So I stopped immediately and did this. So many different pieces almost like it was a den of them. All of these are from around the same place.

The rock is about the size of a large hand. I’m sorry to say I know nothing about fossils and we would be so grateful for some input! Thank you in advance !

Hello! Any ideas on what this could be? I found it years ago in a small Cincinnati river bed. It is free standing and not carved out...at least by hand. To me it resembles a bone ball joint. Any ideas? You all would know far more than me! Thank you! Length is 3” x 2” at top

Hi All! I am brand new here. I have had a life-long interest in all things archaeology/paleontology/geology and was always digging in the dirt as a kid. But I am a veterinarian by trade and have not a clue about any of these awesome things that so intrigue me, lol. The fossil pictured below is one I found on my parents' land (where I grew up) probably 30 years ago. I found it in a little valley area where a creek runs between two fairly large hills. Anyone have any idea what I have here? Thanks a bunch! Michelle

I’m not sure what I have here, I might have found this either in my backyard or in a nearby creek... I’m guessing that it was the creek. I was looking for rocks for my pond (2006). The fossil did not appear until a year or two later and I always wondered what it was. It measures 95mm x 35mm. Any clue would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance. JD

Help! I Have No Idea What I Bought.
wileyboys posted a topic in Is It Real? How to Recognize Fossil Fabrications
I picked up a number of fossils, minerals, and petrified wood at an estate sale. My assumption was that they were real based on circumstantial evidence (he had a lot of other collectibles that were real and expensive). I will post 3 fossil photos and one "what the @%$# is it" picture. That one was supposedly petrified wood, but I cant find anything else like it on the internet. I am wondering if it is plant based or some type of other organism. The photos of the teeth and claw have a measuring tape next to it. The mystery item's are about 7"-13" long and about 6" tall. What are they and are they real. Claw was supposedly Allosaurus. Teeth are supposed to be a spinosaurus tooth and two big megalodon teeth. Thanks for your help. Also.... I was thinking about giving one to my son for his birthday unless they are worth hundreds of dollars. I am not looking for an appraisal but any ball park idea would be great.- 12 replies
