Hi all, my first post here. I found this jaw section with a split tooth in a river in Columbia Co. FL. I assume some sort of canid but unsure. Let me know!

The unknown fossil is found together with shark teeth in a river. Both are from North Florida. Anyone has any idea about ID? Thanks!

I went out to a site that I haven't visited in a while, and it was a bust. Until. I was just getting ready to leave, and went back to a place that I had searched right at the beginning of the day and decided to search just a little more, and then I saw it, at first I thought it was just a fragment, but it turned out to be a complete posterior meg, and my largest one to date! It is always important to search twice, this find saved the day for me, and was a perfect end to the day.

Yesterday evening we went out to a spot we haven't visited in a while, it started out extremely slow, until we hit on one spot that held a possible whale tooth (link to ID thread at bottom) and from there we started pulling out a lot more teeth, here's what we found, enjoy! nice hastalis, probably 1 1/2 inches great white with some great colors fish jaw Whale tooth?

I found this yesterday, I was wondering if it was the root to some sort of whale tooth. I have a picture of the only place where it shows the horizontal lines (in very scientific terms), but I'm not sure if those are just from damage. Thoughts? Thanks! an d here's the (only) image that shows lines.

Today my dad went out hunting without me, an unusual occurrence but I was busy. So when I arrived back home he showed me his finds, and in the center of the spread I see the first cow shark tooth that either of us had ever found. We're going on a trip together to Summerville in two weeks so, hopefully we can still beat this, but otherwise I think this has made the summer, possibly even the year. And this might be an unprovable question, but what's rarer, a Benedini, or a cow shark? At least in north Florida. Thanks!I might retake some pictures tomorrow, it was late so the lighting isn't great.

Yesterday I posted the topic where I announced that my father found our first cow shark tooth, well today I couldn't resist temptation, so we went back to the exact spot and sure enough, there it was.along with a decent sized complete great white tooth, one of the signature finds of this creek. I cannot believe my luck, two days, two cow shark teeth.

Not sure what it is. Found in north central Florida. 2 1/2” long 3/4” width 2” diameter at the thickest point. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I found this yesterday, i was thinking maybe whale with a broken tip. It seems to have little to no enamel left, so it could be a lucky rock, any help? Thanks!

Hello I've been "fossil dormant" for quite a while, but was on the beach yesterday and found these (the recent storms have churned/coughed up some new layers I think) the start tooth may be hard to ID without any of the bourlette, but I can tell you that it has absolutely no serrations - perfectly smooth cutting edges. Mako? As for the small conical tooth, I think it is alligator, but I'm not sure if alligator teeth have distinct sharp crease from tip to base on opposite sides like this tooth does. Thanks for any advice

Found on beach in North Florida. About 5x1.5 millimeters. Shiny bits on the front and back. Not sure what it is?

Anybody know what these are? Biggest in the image is about 35 x 25 mm and smallest is about 20 x 20 mm. Found on north Florida beach.

I went on a fossil hunting trip a few weeks ago but have not had the time to post it until now. It was a very successful trip, I got my first complete tapir teeth some nice deer teeth,and a few other strange fossils. Any ID help is appreciated. sorry about the picture quality, my camera is not the best.1. bobcat, maybe raccoon tooth, it looks predatory, but it's pretty small.2. other strange tooth and fragment that appears to be from a similar animal.3. predator, maybe worn Coyote, not much of an enamel pattern. 4. Rodent, any chance of a specific species?5. Weird thing that appears to have enamel.6. claw core, maybe tortoise.7. vertabre, gator maybe?

Today we went to of our favorite fossil hunting spots to look for shark teeth, we got two nice colored makos and many small shark teeth before thunder chased us away. Among our finds were two strange fossils. First is this small triangular piece I believe to be a skull cap, I realize I forgot measurement, it is about a centimeter long. along with this is either the back of a skull or the strangest vert I have ever seen (about an inch). here are our additional finds.

One way to know you have a great fossil hunting site is that every time you go you get something that you have no clue what it could be. Today we went to our best creek for mammal fossils and had a great day. We got multiple known fossils, like horse, gator, and gar, but also many we did not recognize. On the first fossil, the texture reminds me of a gator osteoderm, so I was thinking some kind of gator bone. The second I think is a section of gator jaw, because of shape and texture. The 3rd I'm following the theme of gator and going with gator vert. The fourth has a bubbly texture, but I'm not sure what it is. The two after that the pictures got shuffled. they both look like they could be tusk of some sort. The fossil after those is vert of some sort but I'm not sure what type. Then there's a weird bone end. After that there's a tooth that looks like it came from a predator, but it looks more rounded than pointy. Then the fossil after that may not be a tooth but better safe than sorry. After that it may be Manatee (do they have 4 roots) sorry that this message was a bit chaotic, there were a lot of fossils to cover.

Today we went to a spot that we don't go often, it started raining about 50 minutes in (we should have checked the weather) but we got quite a few fossils including these unidentified ones (sorry about the picture quality on some of them) the first I believe is a gator tooth with root, the second set, I have no idea about, the 3rd might be dugong, the forth and 5th I think are deer, the sixth I think is tapir, the seventh Is some sort of rodent and the last I believe is a snake vert.

Today we went to a great spot we don't go often. The first 50 minutes were great, then it started raining,I can't imagine what I would have found if I got to stay a good 3 hours. We got two gator osteoderms, including the smallest one I've ever seen (below the large one) some gator teeth. Multiple mammal teeth (follow link below message to get to the ID message) horse frags, gar scales, turtle shell, and other weird fossils. Today we took a trip down to a dredge and had probably our second best trip, we came out with quite a few fossils that we could not identify, I was wondering if anyone could help? Ones a vert from a large fish, probably a drum, but I was wondering if someone could clarify that. Another is a bone that looks nearly complete, probably from a whale, but I am not certain and it looks distinct, and I was hoping someone would know the specifics. Also we got a price of what I am pretty sure is turtle plastron and a gator vert. And the best find was some sort of canine. I'm not sure what it is, I do not believe its whale but the tooth looks to short to be canine or feline, but I could be wrong.
