I found this on the North Sulphur River in Ladonia, Texas. Ozan formation. At first glance it looks like a claw, but is a very worn tooth maybe? Any ideas?

Hi all! This piece has been sitting in my unknown NSR (North Sulphur River-Ladonia, Texas) box for a while, and the closest ID I can find would be a turtle scute. Is that correct? Thank you in advance!!

Hi everyone! I’ve been going through my box of unidentified North Sulphur River (Ladonia, Texas) finds, and I’m curious as to what this small bone may have belonged to. Any ideas? Thank you in advance!

Here’s a small group of items I found in the North Sulfur River (Ladonia, Texas) over the weekend. I’m curious if A,B and C are coprolite? I’m wondering what species the shark tooth is as well. Thank you in advance!

Good time at the North Sulphur River in Ladonia, Texas this weekend. Here are some of the things we found! I’m curious about the gray ammonite (bottom right). I’ve attached a few photos at the end (first two photos) to see if any of you know what the black line is running through it at the bottom. It reminds me of the vein in a shrimp!

Hi all! I was down in the North Sulphur River bottom (Ladonia, Texas) this evening and found this small, but nice tooth. Any ideas what this tooth may have belonged to? I found a few other nice picks that I’ll post later, but I was eager to learn about this one. Any help would be appreciated.

Hello all! Sunday on the North Sulphur River in Ladonia, Texas was hot and dry, but still a great day!!! Friends found some beautiful arrowheads and shark teeth! Here are a few things from my trip! I believe I have here a piece of mastodon/mammoth tooth enamel, shark tooth?, bone chunks (not sure from what), a piece of flint??? Any ideas of the specifics? Thanks in advance!- 20 replies

I'm new to the site and have several interesting finds that are needing some identification! Me and my 8 and 9 year old boys have been digging away and are all very interested in knowing what we have. Google just isn't doing it lol! Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I saw the first opportunity to get back to the North Sulphur River yesterday when the temps were going to be below normal for a change. There was a really nice breeze blowing down the river. Went to a spot on the river that I have only been to once before and access is pretty poor. Thanks to whomever added the rope, it helped, especially getting out! Quantity of the finds were low but the quality of what I found was great. Found the largest Tylosaurus tooth I have ever found with a diameter just under an inch. Also a shark tooth and one nice mosasaur vertebrae. I always enjoy the chance to find an artifact, ever though they are rare, or at least for me they are? I liked the way that JarrodB displayed his artifact recently, so I photographed this one the same and it turned out pretty good. Not sure the type, could be a Marshall, usually I find Gary's, so this was a nice departure. I will be watching for another cooler than normal Texas summer day to get back to this spot.

I know very little on Pleistocene fossils but I always thought the horses that roamed during the Ice Age were much smaller than the modern ones. I found this large solid rock horse cannon bone fossil at the North Sulphur River Texas which is comparable in size to the modern day ones I find. I'm 100 % sure it's a fossil. Sorry I can't take measurements but I'm offshore working. Lol you can use my 6 yr old grandson for scale.

I haven't had much time to hunt lately but I did manage to squeeze in a North Sulphur River creek hunt. My finds were not great but I did manage to find a nice variety. The fossil horse cannon bone is probably my favorite due to the preservation. It's solid rock. Lol my grandson carried it around the house all night when I brought it home. The Xiphactinus vert, old bottles and artifacts were a nice bonus to the usual Mosasaur material. This creek has some killer flint in it so I can see a nice arrowhead coming soon.
