I was down on the NSR this weekend and found this nice little 3 inch fossil. If any of you know the scientific name, please share! I thought it was really pretty. The NSR, I have to say, seems to be fairly picked over near the giant stairway. It was ridiculously hot down there this weekend and humid, so I was hesitant to venture off too far, but I'm assuming that the finds will be more plentiful if I start hiking away from the stairs when the weather cools down.

I had a great day the North Sulphur River. I found my first red mosasaur tooth and 2 Native American Drills which are very rare to find in that are. Numerous other shark teeth, mosasaur verts and a cool old cork style bottle in the pic.

Group of this and that from the North Sulphur River! There's was an abundance of oysters yesterday after the big rain the day before. Please let me know if you can ID some of the others.

Hot North Sulphur River hunt. I followed some footprints but still managed a nice variety.

I rarely sell fossils but my friend in New Zealand told me how much his son loves Mosasaurs so I figured I could afford to let one Mosasaur tooth go. I threw in a variety of NSR / Post Oak Creek shark teeth, small ammonite and a few Mosasaur verts as a bonus. He sent me this pic today of how happy his son was to get the package of fossils. I think he has a fossil fan for life now.
