Sorry I have been crazy busy lately and unable to post. Here's a few of Northeast Texas finds my last couple of trips. Pleisosaur partial girdle, silver spoon, artifacts, xiphactinus tooth, mosasaur verts, old door knob, enchodus jaws, old hard hat, old bottles, ammonite, exogyra and my first crocodile scute.

I took a trip to the NSR in early February and here are my finds. All of the bones in picture 2 as well as the closeups, I'm assuming mosasaur, were found on the surface but all with in about 10 yards of each other. They were on the other side of the river from the large cliff face so they wouldn't have fallen out of the matrix from it. It was a remote large creek area so could have just been revealed from the ground slowly over time and no one found them until I came across it. The bones themselves were also different from other mosasaur im used to finding. They had a reddish tent to them and they had a rougher texture, almost a little sandstoneish. Maybe the fossilization process at this spot was a little different than the normal NSR fossilization. Im interested in pictures 3-5, is it a fossil or geological? Im also interested in pictures 6 and 7, coprolite? I know pictures 8-10 are geological but I thought they were pretty cool whatever they are. Hi Everyone, Found this morning at North Sulfur River, Delta County, TX. First pic is one side. Third pic the other. Any idea?

I took a trip to nsr after some decent rain in the middle of January. Here in Texas the weather can be hot, cold, or anything in between and it turned out it was a nice day in the 60s. I found a decent mosasaur vert, some decent ammonites, and a few other items. Let me know what you think. Pictures 4 and 5 where of a huge ammonite. You can tell by the rock pick it was over a foot wide and the picture doesn't show but the outer shell that was deteriorating was iridescent and really pretty. I don't think I have seen an ammonite with actual shell still intact however everything else was pretty much eroded. I also provided some in situ shots of the verts. Also pictures 28 and 29 are of a really worn piece of bone that had one side covered in matrix or was possibly fused with another type of rock? Anyone know what items: 8 and 9, 10 and 11 are? Also I haven't done any research yet but it appears there are several different types of ammonites I found. Picture 27 are those burrows? If so any idea what creature made them? Hey everyone, Been awhile since I posted about identifying anything but I do have a few since I am trapped in the . Finally got most of my stuff sorted. I found this at the NSR in Delta County after the heavy rains a few weeks back. Although there can be bones found from cows fairly frequently this stood out. It was cover in the dark soiled like it was just released. I have only used water and a toothbrush. Hollow center was pretty challenging as the black dirt was tough to remove. I have done the burn test and no hair smell. It is heavier then I would expect it to be. I am thinking Bison. Thoughts and age maybe? Also curious as the break or scrap in pic 7.

After my last NSR trip, and finding a mosasaur vert, I felt like I was getting a better eye for NRS fossils. I have always heard the feeder creeks can be productive however I have searched in several never found anything in them. Now that I had more confidence I went to a more remote bridge and went for the first feeder creek I could find. It turned out to be decently productive with several more verts, none in particularly great condition though, and a jaw section. I think there is a coprolite in there too, pictures 14 and 15 maybe? I think my favorite find of all was the artifact though. Anyone have an idea what pictures 7-13 are of? 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. 10. 11. 12. 13. 14. 15.

Hi! I recently saw a post about regurgitated bones and was wondering how to tell. These pieces are from North Sulphuric River, and very worn. Planning to make a little stand for these and would like to know for the description.

Hi Everyone, I have several verts that are encased within the red matrix from NSR. Has anyone soaked that in a vinegar solution? If so, did it work? Did it hurt the fossils? If there is another way to remove it let me know. Planko

Saturday I hit the North Sulphur River Texas and found a nice variety of interesting items.

Everyone said NSR was dry and picked over but I hiked 9 hrs and found some cool stuff. My favorites are the Protostega costal bone with partial rib head preserved, the mosasaur bone with bite mark and the artifacts. I walked in tracks all day but the river is too large for someone to get everything and people miss quite a bit.

After taking a little time off from hunting due to a new job and holidays I decided to hit the North Sulphur River with a friend. We had a great day. I love the Tylosaur scapula with shark bites. We found a large Xiphactinus washing out and ended up with one left maxilla and three verts from it. We will go back and check that area again.
