Hello, I found this on a beach along Croatian coast and was unlike any of the surrounding rocks/geology. It's symmetrical and submarine-shaped. I'm wondering if it's a fossil v. a natural formation. Any information is greatly appreciated!

Hi hoping that someone can help me identify this tooth I found at the western- super- mare beach, Bristol, U.K. (google location (51.3379019, -2.9861150). I can see it looks like a tooth but as it was in salt water the enamel has disappeared. It is hollowed out too and has a crack at the bottom, is about 1 inch long. I would love to know what animal it came from, my thoughts are a crocodile tooth and if so can anyone tell me what species? the tide was very low so walked through a lot of muddy sand lol must of been 2 miles into the beach towards the ocean. I hope someone can identify it many thanks.

I found this rock with a shell imprint on the beach in North Carolina. I have searched around on the Internet but I’ve not been able to find anything quite like it. I find it interesting because it appears to not only be the imprint of a conical shell but a cross-section of the shell itself because of the sharp contrasted color and outlines. Although it appears black in the picture the rock is actually a deep brown color and was clearly once very jagged but has been smoothed. Any help identifying the rock and the shell would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

What are these Crystallized fossils found in Mountain Home, Tx???
Collinsishome posted a topic in Fossil ID
Alright family, majority of my life as a child I used to be apart of a ranch as a worker than a guide with my brother and father. The name of the Ranch before Mr. Taylor died was the the Double TT Ranch located 5 mile down the road for the YO ranch in mountain home TX, Mr. Taylor was our boss and owner of the ranch and gave us permission to take rocks and shedded antler, one of the benefits of working on the ranch forever. during our time here before the ranch was sold we used to find tons of these Crystallized Rocks at different parts of the ranch I have buckets and buckets of them. now that I'm getting older I started looking for information on what we were picking up. I talked with an individual that graded our crystals and the solidity of them are right under diamond as far as hardness. now after doing research The only thing I can conclude is since we find a lot of sea shells imprinted within our rock is that these used to be highly carbonated humongous tube-worms form the per historic era.. that are now crystallized. I've been told that when the meteor hit that killed the dinosaurs a splash ring of highly heated mass of rock and critters made it this far and are now crystallized from the heat and time.... I have no idea and would like to know if anyone has answers on this matter???? Ive attached a few pick and can send more.- 32 replies

I' m a local photographer in Flagler Beach, FL. I frequent a local beach almost daily. I have come across quite an interesting find. Currently due to stormy weather causing rough waves and some higher than normal tides the rocks have been sliding down into the ocean and breaking apart. Well a wonderful treasure was exposed in one of the rocks. A skull. There is also a tooth and what looks to be bone vertebrate. I am in the process of excavating currently but would love to know who this skull belongs to. Any help is appreciated!!

Found almost fully submerged in the wet sand beneath the waves of Holden Beach. It was found within newly replenished sand from dredging that’s occurring currently a couple miles off the coast. Very heavy and dense(1.257kg), porous of course and it’s not perfectly symmetrical at any angle I view it from. I’d guess some whale bone but I know very little about fossils. There’s also tens of thousands of Hardouinia Mortonis (PeeDee Cretaceous) coming up through the dredge pipes if that helps in any way. Longest length ≈ 15cm Longest width ≈ 10cm Longest depth/height ≈ 8cm Narrowest depth/height ≈ 3cm Any help is appreciated, thanks. Also vinegar to try and clean the barnacles and such off?

Found on Holden Beach, North Carolina along the shoreline. The beach is currently being dredged and renourished from a couple miles off the coast and it’s possible this item came through the dredges. Has a strange webbing like pattern throughout which is why I kept it. Appears to be pourous and has weight but is not super heavy for its size. Is this just a rock or something else?

All found along the beaches anywhere between Onslow Beach and Holden Beach, North Carolina. If you would like more pictures of anything please let me know, thanks. The shark tooth is strange to me because I thought it was a fragment but the serrations on both edges make it seem otherwise like a newly grown tooth? I have plenty of shark teeth and no problem identifying them but this one stumps me. As far as number three goes, I thought it was a piece of turtle shell but my geology professor thought it may be a very worn tooth, however he wasn’t sure.

Hi, I am a real novice here. I was given several sharks teeth collected on northeast Florida beaches. I am trying to identify them to create a small 'show and tell' for beach goers to be able to ID the teeth they find on the beach. I am now totally confused as some say they are Mako as there are no nibs but there are several examples of Sand Tiger Sharks that have no nibs. I found this forum and am hoping you can help. Also I have no idea what the piece in the middle is. I am assuming it is a broken piece from maybe Tiger Shark? Thanks from a Novice trying my best. Suki2

I found this weird fossil, it was sticking out of a large Boulder of limestone, I removed it. I can’t really make sense of it? Carboniferous fossils were found in the area, this was found on the Missouri River just outside Kansas City.
