Hi forum, sorry it's me again I was in omhden (DE) about 4 months ago and among the already digged and cracked stones i've found this strange speciment. It's a complete flat surface, very regular with a strange spoon-shaped prominence in the middle. It looks also like it has a scale-shape lucid black piece next to him. I thought this was enough to take it, also considering that i'm not an expert and i know i can ignore a ton of unprepped super pieces also if i grab them by my hands. I don't have any idea if this is just a blank rock or it can hide something good. I need

Hi Forum, i'd like to know what is or what caused this striped part of this rock and the little dotted part on the top. I collected it in the Omhden quarry (Germany, next to Holzmaden) the length of the striped part is about 5cm while the max length of the rock is 17cm Thanks a lot Paolo

Hi Forum, I'm asking you help to identify this speciment. Is it a big shell? or I am confusing a big portion of an ammonite? the piece is about 15cm. It was collected in the Omhden quarry (DE, next to the famous Holzmaden quarry) in the pictures you can find positive and negative plates Thanks a lot Paolo

Hi Forum, always from the Omhden (DE) quarry, i collected this piece. I didn't personally took it from the rocks, but i found it while moving some other already broken rocks to reach new layers. I find it strange because while every other Omhden piece of rock is dark, this has a yellow/brown cover all over it surface, and instead of the 2D shape that almost every Omhden repert or layer has, it has strange 3D bubble shape. it includes lots of belemnites and some shells. In the quarry at first sight i thought at some sort of coprolite but because i am a beginner it can easily be anythi

Hi, always from the Omhden (DE) quarry. I'm wondering what this dark mineral actually could be... I'll report 2 different speciments, both about 10-15cm in length. They have little white "spiderweb" across the dark lucid surface. it is like 1mm thick this could be really useful for beginners like me thanks a lot Paolo
