Good afternoon, whilst digging out the garden we have found this perfectly round rock, looks a lot like orange skin and even has a core. I was curious to see inside so broke into the rock to find a crust on the outside. (I kind of wish I didn’t) Is anybody able to confirm my suspicions?

I was doing an initial cleaning of this piece to categorize, label and store for future preparation. I do this by brushing the loose dirt off with a natural bristled paint brush and then a quick cleaning with my dust collector to pick up some of the finer particles. This time, while using the dust collector, a little surprise popped out. My first thought was tube worm, well preserved and free enough for the suction to pull it out. Thankfully it didn’t detach! I was wondering if this is a common occurrence. Has anyone else experienced this? And do you agree that it’s most likely a tube worm? thanks! -Sean apologies for the standard measuring tape. Found in Jackson County Missouri (I didn't find it myself, but I can most likely get more info on location it was found.) I do believe it was found in a dirt road alley. Long dark grey and brown striations, that cannot be scratched with my nail. Then on one side in a few large chunks, an orange/brown (rust colored) residue, that can be scratched off. I thought my pictures were going to look much better than this. So I can get better pictures ASAP if need be. Let me know any other information I need to provide. Thank you for looking! Hello, I found this, already cracked in a field in Northamptonshire, UK. It has a strange pattern on the outside and a streak of orange inside. Sorry for the bad photo quality. Thanks.

Moroccan starfish fossil purchased near Erfoud. Is it real? Are the small ones a different type of starfish? I am also looking for ideas on how to hang it?

Found this rock on the shoreline ofLake Michigan. I'm posting it here in the fossil forum because it is a rock. I'm figuring the fossil guys would know if it might be a meteor fragment or perhaps something else. Also, i don't belong to a meteor fragment forum. It appears that the metallic content embedded in the rock has produced an orange rust like color on the rock. This color caused me to pick up the rock and carry it home. I have more pictures.

Hello all! Hope everyone's years are off to a happy and huntfull start! Well I started the year off spending some Christmas cash on a meglodon tooth. (Having only found fragments myself) any way I was wondering if there is a tie between locations and colors of teeth. I found this beauty at an pass-proof price. It is a beautiful orange/red. At 5 inches almost exactly. The previous owner says it came from the st. Mary's river area of Georgia. (Pretty close to where I was when I got it). I am just curious if this is a common color for other areas or even in the st Mary's area? Thank you all for any input.

I found the orange rock in San antonio and the silver one off Bosgue Rd( and it's not to foil,lol) today. I have searched and can't find out what they are. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Hello all, I have a find from southern New Jersey. It has many crystalized "veins" running through it, and possibly internal too having a specific gravity of 2.27.....It is not brittle and is very solid, yet lightweight. Underneath shows an off-white color spot, which may be the original color as it has iron color to it now? Any thoughts on this specimen would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for taking a look. Hi All . . . I found this in a pile of rocks in New Jersey. Upon closer view, I noticed the orange fish. There are two definitive teeth as well. What do you think?
