    Tooth? In Oxford UK

Complete newbie. This may not even be a tooth. But there’s been some building work near us (Oxford, UK) and diggers have unearthed lots of unusual rocks. We’ve found plenty of belemnites and now this. Any ideas?

    UK Marine Reptile Teeth

Hello all, I've had two teeth in my collection for many years now. I've recently moved and lost the supplied ID labels that came with them. I've taken this as a nice opportunity to see what others may think they are. I believe if memory serves me right the large tooth (Tooth A in photos) was labeled as a Simolestes. Then the smaller tooth tip (Tooth B in photos) labeled as Liopleurodon. I know both were found in the Wicklesham pit in Faringdon, Oxfordshire, UK. Upon some research, I found an article from 2014 with a Dakosaurus tooth discovered to be the largest in the UK at the ti

    Pliosaur vert?

I'm interested in a pliosaur vert. This one is slightly distorted due to crushing. From Kimmeridge Clay. 9cm x 6cm x2.5 Is Pliosaur accurate, or is it plesiosaur,.or something else? Thanks.
  4. Oxford University Museum of Natural History (May take some time for me to upload all of the pics, so give or take 30 min) My thing is if I’m traveling to another country, I love seeing a varied collection of fossils at the museum found in that same country. This was exactly that. Stunning and one of my favorites. Positives: If you are looking for Mesozoic everything, this museum is for you - much important paleontology history here Many fossils on display from many eras Organized, convenient More actual fossils t

    Oxford Fossil Show

Hi guys I have never been to one of the Oxford shows and I was wondering whether it would be worth me going? Does anyone have any advice? I saw in a previous thread that some people have been there, but weren't so sure on the quality? Thanks. (Also is anyone going?)

  8. Will anyone here be going to the Oxford Mineral and Fossil Show on 29 July 2018? I’m going to try my best to be there for this one. If anyone has been in the past, how great are the fossils that are for sale? I’m not too interested in the minerals part of it.
  9. After visiting the Natural History Museum in Oxford England last year, I really recommend it, London eat your heart out. Easy to get to via train, within walking distance of rail station. I think the displays of fossils are well laid out around the outside of the gallery as well as the larger ones in the middle. I hope to take more photos of the displays as I am going again this year. Well worth a visit, prefer it to the NHM in London. Their website is: http://www.oum.ox.ac.uk/

    Id: Seashell?

Is this a fossil? 290grams, circa 85mm diameter, appears shell-like, but very thick compared to any modern bivalve that I have seen. Was found in foundations of 1910's house in Oxford OX4 90m above sea level, found among clay and gravel/aggregate used in (presumably original) build. I don't know whether item was local to the site. Would love to get any info on this, for personal interest and because 6 year old daughter wants to do a show-and-tell at school! Thanks.
