I found this fossil gastropod on an auction site and I really liked it. But the information is a bit confusing. On the title it states that it is Cretaceous but in the description of the seller it says "Cretaceous-Oxfordian-160 MYA". Oxfordian is a period from the Jurassic, not the Cretaceous. The locality & species (theres 2 species) Location: Kostroma Region Russia Species: Pictavia laevigata & Exelissa quinariia .

I have these unidentified ammonites, and I would like to know what they are. I believe that the second one is Desmoceras latidorsatum, comparing it with internet photos. The first one is from the Oxfordian of Charente (France), and the other I don't know. 1.- Oxfordian, Charente (France). 2.- Look at suture lines. Thanks!

Hi everybody, i recently went on an Oxfordian site and wondered about that ammonite. I thought it was a Taramelliceras dentostriatum but the opening seems different. This, i hesitate between Taramelliceras dentostriatum and proscaphites. It's average size is about two centimeters. What do you think guys ? @Ludwigia ?

Bronnitsy is the place to search for articulated guards and phragmacones. They are rare, but I hope to find a good one some day. -
