Picked up the below bone a few weeks ago on a Peace River, FL hunt. My first impression was that it was a partial vertebrae. Second thought was a patella? After much searching I couldn't come up with a match that I believed was close enough to provide an ID. What I find most interesting is the protruding bump on one side and the corresponding indentation on the other. Maybe a tail bone? The specimen measurements: Inches = 3.75" long x 1.5" wide x 1.25" tall MM = 87mm long x 42mm wide x 38mm tall The ruler shown is MM.

Had a good trip down to the river this weekend. Found several pleistocene things. I've been identifying things, and I'm going to try to post them in a trip post later this week. But very unsure about this one. Right now I don't even have a good guess.

This is another bone I picked up last week in the Peace River. I have been trying to ID it but think maybe it will have to be put in the "chunkasaurus" pile. I was leaning toward a section of sloth or other mammal tibia. Any help would be appreciated. Bone is almost 6" long x 3" at the wide end tapering to 1.25" and 2.5" high. The curvature and tapering of the bone is what led me to think possibly a section of sloth tibia.

Found this thick bone piece in a new jersey cretaceous creek and wonder if its possible to maybe id since one side has a distinct rough texture while the other is flatter and striated, I would guess either large turtle, mosasaur, or dinosaur. My friend joked its a theropod maxilary skull fragment, but we all know around here that material seems close to impossible to come across haha. Interested to hear any other thoughts.
