I recently found this partial tooth in Florida and I really think it’s dire wolf. It looks exactly like the upper carnassial dire wolf teeth online. The only measurement i have is that the thickest part of the enamel from top to bottom is 17mm thick, not accounting for wear. Can you guys confirm/deny? Thanks! filtered-3F76D20A-199B-4B93-8957-ACB17287FC39.mp4

Hi all My son and I found this large bone in Orange County, Florida. There is a socket at one end. At first, we thought it was a scapula; however, after more searching, we are stumped. Any help IDing it is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Scapula from Peace River Florida. Recent find that I just finished putting together. I've been through flmnh website, books, Internet, etc. can't find anything like it. Looking for help on id. Was thinking sloth until I started the assembly process. Thanks

Hello everyone, I have gotten really into meg diving this last year to the point where I am driving down to Venice from Orlando twice a month to dive for teeth. I have started to look into getting black water diving and I am not really sure where to start. Does anyone have any rivers that are good for black water diving? I have heard talk that people do it in the Peace river and the St. Marys and I didn't know if that is where most people go or if there are other rivers people dive that hold a good amount of teeth. I don't want to sound like the guy who is asking for your super secret spots but I'm just trying to find out where I should start to get into this. If anyone does black water diving and ever needs someone to go with I would be very interested in going with you and I would certainly throw in for gas money. I also have my own boat so we cold take it out also if that is an issue you have. Thank you for any information you can give me, Parker

For the invert crowd Peace river echinoids and sand dollar
hoffy posted a topic in Fossil Hunting Trips
These are so hard find in the Peace River. I've only found one echinoid and small chunks of sand dollars in 20+ years then kabóom 4 echinoids and 2 complete sand dollars. The sand dollar maybe Melitta Carolinas I'm sure I did not spell that correctly. As soon I manufacture some extra time these and more are gong to FLMNH. -
Suggestions? Peace River Florida fossil hunting south of Zolfo springs
Jasons_fossils posted a topic in Fossil Hunting Trips
I want to go back to Peace River but I don't want to do the normal canoe outpost thing this time. I want to take a kayak south of Zolfo springs were the river gets bendy, shallow, and remote. I don't have a kayak so I'm wondering if anyone has any recommendations for where I can rent one or if they want a hunting buddy for the second week of May. -
My son found this tooth while we explored the Peace River. @Shellseeker thinks Cervidae. Sorry for the use of a quarter for sizing up the tooth. It was all I had when we finished the hunt and my son took the tooth.

My second time out to the Peace River, what a glorious peace of land. The air temp was mid 80s, dew points in the low 60s and water temp was perfect. My wife of 37 years accompanied me this trip, and yep, she found a complete Meg. Not huge, but near perfect. and one photo of the gulf, where we spent 4 fabulous nights last week .

Very small, roughy one centimeter. Found near the Peace River. Apologies for bad photo quality. On a trip and can upload more when I get home. Thinking maybe part of some kind of fish jaw?

Starting to ID some of my peace river finds from last season and I'm going to need some help. I found these teeth all in the same hole I don't believe they're all the same animal though. Thanks, Dave

I recently found this mammal tooth along Peace River in Florida. It is just the cap of the tooth with no root present. I'm having trouble identifying it and was hoping someone would recognize the tooth and what animal it may have come from.

Hello all, on a recent trip to the Peace river, I found this. It has what appears to be a pattern all over it, even in one of the grooves. Any ideas? Thanks and best regards
