Hi preppers... I have the ST Mannion pen, I want something more aggressive, Kens TT is an option but... are the Chicago one's worth getting to save the pennies ? Same pen I believe but tweaked, where is the cheapest place to buy ? Only available in the US ? Delivery ? Import tax ? So many questions such little time, thanks.

Right... bought my ST pen few months back, got my compressor today (50l) going to order my water trap soon, got hoses too, got a build up of large Ammonites and bone concretions that need to be prepped, will start off with a few practice Ammonites then move onto bigger things, any hints n tips for first time set ups and prep ? Cheers.

Hi, started fossil hunting around August, as my collection grows and I find rarer interesting things I'm starting to think about real preparation, most pro's out there charge around £25 an hour I believe, so possibly around £150 for a decent sized ammonite, I'm pretty hands on and used to be an upholsterer so think would be good at it (hopefully) Now I'm looking at Ken Mannion pens (ST) and a small compressor (24litre) 2.5hp) You think I could get going with these as paying someone else to prepare over and over would be costly and I do like exposing fossils myself, thanks... Alan
