    Morocops ovatus

From the album: My collection in progress

Morocops ovatus McKellan & Chatterton 2009 Location: Timrhanrhart Formatiom, Djebel Ouften, Morocco Age: 400 Mya (Eifelian, Middle Devonian) Measurements: 5x3 cm (trilobite), 8x7 cm (matrix) Kingdom: Animalia Phylum: Arthropoda Subphylum: Trilobitomorpha Class: Trilobita Order: Phacopida Suborder: Phacopina Family: Phacopidae
  2. Kane

    Austerops sp.

    From the album: Trilobites

From the Jorf locality, these come out slightly metamorphosed, lending them their somewhat "plasticized" appearance. This is a common phacopidae from there, but all trilobites in these layers are a massive challenge to prepare.
  3. Hi everybody! Today i want to kindly ask you help for the correct ID of this trilobite. My choice is Morocops ovatus but obviously i prefer to listen the ideas of experts (@piranha @Kane @Tidgy's Dad and more). I'm thankful to everyone who want to participate at the topic Here are the info: Origin: Jbel Zguilma (Foum Zguid), near Alnif, Morocco Age: Emsian, Devonian Lenght: 5.5 cm / 2.16 inches The trilobite is not in my hands, the photos are from the seller. Thanks and have a wonderful weekend!

    Ductina Vietnamica TRILOBITE

From the album: MY FOSSIL Collection - Dpaul7

Ductina vietnamica Trilobite Vietnam Eifelian and Pragian stages - Devonian Age 380 Million Years old. Trilobites are a fossil group of extinct marine arthropods that form the class Trilobita. Trilobites form one of the earliest known groups of arthropods. The first appearance of trilobites in the fossil record defines the base of the Atdabanian stage of the Early Cambrian period (521 million years ago). They were hard-shelled, segmented creatures that lived in Earth's ancient seas. They are considered to be one of our planet's earliest complex life-forms and are one of the key signature creatures of the Paleozoic Era. Trilobites went extinct before dinosaurs ever existed. Weight: 1.4 Ounces Dimensions: 1.8 Inches Long & 1.4 Inches Wide. Ductina was a rather successful phacopid, being recorded throughout most of the Devonian. They are small (examples range between 1/2 an inch to 1.2 inches), with a simple effaced pygidum and a cephalon lacking many features (such as tubercles) found in its fellow trilobites of the Family Phacopidae. Most noticeably, Ductina is blind. Blindness is a trend in several groups of trilobites, but was also present in the relatives of the well-known Eldredgeops. This secondary blindness has often been interpreted as relating to the environmental conditions that the benthic trilobites faced Kingdom: Animalia Phylum: Arthropoda Class: †Trilobita Order: †Phacopida Family: †Phacopidae Genus: †Ductina Species: †vietnamica
  5. I have up for offer this little fella. He's not perfect, but he's a cute little ~2cm prone Eldredgeops rana with a nice little coral in association. He's got something weird going on on the right portion of his cephalon into the first few pleurae, but has really nice color and a great personality. I prepped him out to a degree, but I don't want to risk losing any more of his already damaged glabella. I'm offering him up in trade for another equally disrupted trilobite. Message me with any interest!
