Hi all As you probably know I have really been interested lately in macro photography. Let’s see any of your wonderful fossil adventures in close up. Today I found this little beauty a shark tooth (I have not ID it yet but it could be Negaprion lemon shark tooth) form Rattlesnake Creek micro matrix I was sent. It is only about 3mm but a Bobby dazzler. Looking forward to seeing some of your very interesting pictures.

Hey all! New to the site, found this while kayaking over the weekend in the Santa Fe River, near Rum Springs Park launch, upriver a bit, it was just down from a smaller spring boil, off the side of the main river way. Any idea of what it is? At first I was alarmed, then upon closer inspection, realized it probably belonged to an animal. Thanks in advance for the help!

Hello, I was wondering, before using a generic one found online, if any forum member designed a printable photografic scale on his own and would like to share it. Thanks, hopefully this is the right section to ask this.

What is the name of those cubes with measurements on them?
JohnBrian posted a topic in Questions & Answers
What are those cubes with measurements on them called? I looked at various subforums but didn't see any of them listed and since I don't know their name I can't really search for them! -
I came across an article today on using a printer scanner to image shark teeth. It worked well for the labial side (relatively flat). However, the lingual side was less than satisfactory. Have any of you used this method of imaging teeth, and do any of you have tips on getting good images for the lingual side? Thanks, Carson

Help! - How To Whitening Fossils With Ammonium Chloride
Sylvestersen posted a topic in General Fossil Discussion
Hi Does anyone have any practical experience of how to whitening fossils with ammonium chloride. The technique I wish to lear more about is the one where the fossilis is covered with chloride smoke. This coating should eliminates reflections, translucency and color variations, and easily removed by simply blowing on it.- 5 replies
