Been a while since I've found anything new, but this turned up in the creek rubble today. Could it be a fossil? Eastern KY, Pikeville Formation (Pennsylvanian). Found as float.

Haven't posted here in forever, but can anyone tell me what I've found here? It initially struck me as a plant, but at the same time I can sort of make out what resemble a crayfish head (complete with antennae) and claw. Neat to look at, whatever it is. About 6cm long. Pikeville Formation, eastern KY

I found this "crazy miniature vase" in the creek gravel today and was wondering what it might be. The big thing in the middle just looks like a regular nodule to me, but the black thing hugging it looks bizarre. The black thing branches out into two hollow tubes. A magnet doesn't stick to it. The whole piece measures 4.5cm tall (black piece is about 2.5cm). The last attachment is another one of today's finds and I was wondering if it might be Lepidodendron. I see an interlocking diamond-teardrop pattern, though it's not super distinct. I also see some small "feeding eyes," making me lean toward Stigmaria. Area shown is about 9cm long.

I'm back with a few more small finds: A. Another brachiopod(?) that I found in the driveway gravel (supposedly from the Slade formation). Looks a bit different than my others (the ridges aren't as deep and it's more shiny). The rock is 1" long. B. An oddly-textured rock from the creek (Pikeville formation, though the rock may have originated from elsewhere). I noticed a couple shapes on it that might be fossils (maybe crinoid or worm burrows). The rock measures about 6.5cm wide and 4cm tall. C. Poor picture, but here's another from the driveway. I've seen a few pieces with some of these "washer" shapes on them (which I tend to associate with crinoids), but this one is literally covered! I'm thinking that it might be some kind of coral or an oolith. It's about 3.5cm long. D. I posted this in my previous topic, but I think I did so too late to get any views. Found in the creek, but probably came from the driveway due to its appearance. Looks like marine bits of something. Poorly-preserved, but neat to look at anyway. Measures 1.5" long.

Today's most unusual find. It looks like some of the smaller Calamites pieces I've found, but the lines look like they're twisted around the specimen instead of straight up and down. Slightly bowed. It measures 3cm long. Found by the creek. (Sorry about the flash. It was dark by time I got inside and the weather is supposed to be bad tomorrow.)

I found this poking out of the creek about a week ago. It looks like there are leaves in there (maybe some twigs as well), but I'm not sure what kind. The long, skinny shapes of the "leaves" make me think they might be Annularia (although lacking the fanning shape, which I assume is because they fell off the plant), but I'm not sure... The biggest ones at the bottom left measure about 2cm long.
