Hey everyone!
I was recently down in Southern California hunting for fossils when I came along a weird fossil. I picked it up because on the surface it looks like it has feeding from a rodent. It isn't bone, since it doesn't have the characteristics of bone, but when talking with another paleontologist, he brought up the idea that it could be plant material. The area that it was found in does produce a lot of petrified wood, so if this was a seed or something like that, it would make sense. I'm not sure about the exact formation because when looking at Rock'd, it lists multiple formations, but I'll post a picture of the formations below. What do you think this is? Any response is appreciated! Thanks, everyone!
