Hi! So I know absolutely nothing about fossils, but my dad and I were looking for shark teeth at Fossil Beach in Westmoreland State Park yesterday, and we came up empty handed except for this weird looking rock. At first we thought it was just a rock in the general shape of a shark tooth, but upon closer inspection we noticed that it looks glossy and about the right color in a few spots (especially on one side) and there are some lines in the rock that look sharktooth-esque. It has holes in the top and on the side that are each about a centimeter deep, so we were wondering if it were possible that this is actually a shark tooth, and a rock somehow formed around it? (Please excuse the awful photography lol, I couldn't get a clear side picture without holding it up) The dimensions are about an 1.25 x 1.75 inches btw Thank you so much, any input would be greatly appreciated!

My son found this on a beach on the East Coast of the UK. We are used to finding items such as ammonites, crinoids etc but have no idea what this is. Please help!

Hiya!! Fossil Noob in need of assistance!! Sorry in advance for not having a ruler, I will make sure I get one! I found these two rocks sitting on the river bed, the hot weather means the river is shallow at the moment. They were found in a village called Rosebank near Glasgow on the river Clyde, which I've been told is apparently in the carboniferous belt across central Scotland. Any tips, pointers or advice would be greatly appreciated as I would love to learn more. My own research has not really pointed me in any direction and these might be nothing! Stay safe everyone!

Purchasing Tyrannosaur teeth

I don't have any tyrannosaur teeth in my collection, so I am looking for advice when purchasing teeth from these famous theropods. Does this tooth look look like daspletosaurus, it 9cm long. The seller has not put any locality on as far as I can see.

It's bad enough to be a Newbie who doesn't know the language let alone the "age" and geo info... and my camera sucks. I just read and read and try to figure out how to fit in with all of this knowledge. I don't want to let go of this site but feel very small. Someone who puts down a level that has to be achieved to be able to post... well, I'm already intimidated. There's so much wealth of information and I do love to read, but posting my finds as crappy and insignificant as they might be, so that I might learn is why I'm here. I WANT TO KNOW! Written Permission: Digging on private land

Fellow Hunters, This past summer I've been trying my hand at fossil hunting. I've been "digging" and sifting local/ public creek beds and accessible construction sites in the surrounding DFW areas (TEXAS). However, it was recommended to me I start asking the permission of local farm and land owners to enter their properties for my weekend hunts. My question is what sort of written documentation do I need from these land owners to be on their land? Is there some sort of "legal standard" or template I should use for this sort of thing? I'm very new at this so please pardon my ignorance. Thank you for any information, templates or advise you may be able to provide. Respectfully, Y. Michael LaBorde P.S. I live between Ft.
