I’m helping a man clear out one of the most amazing antique collections iv ever seen and came across a Buffalo skull. I was looking up the value and researching it and when I first seen it I thought it was damaged or something because of the way the bone looked, it was different then any other iv seen and a different color. I came across the fossil skulls of them and I think it could be one! I’m hoping someone in here can point me in the right direction because I honestly even though growing up where everyone hunts have never put much thought into mounted skulls lol . Located in central Oklahoma .

I’ve been collecting fossils on the beach for several years. Just recently learned this area is part of the Waccamaw formation and most finds are from the Pleistocene time period. I would like to learn more about the Waccamaw Formation. Can anyone suggest particular resources for this area?

Hi all! It has been a long time since i have made a post here, as i have not been out and about fossil hunting too much. Any ideas on this Fossil bone? Not looking for a specific species, genus would be great though. Miocene to early pliocene. Thanks

Found in the Peace River, Florida. Unfortunately root is missing. Fairly robust size, curved, one side appears to have a mesial ridge. I am hoping it is dire wolf. What do you think?

Greetings all, I have lived in the north most of my life. A long time rock/fossil collector. I grew up in the badlands of Alberta finding arrow heads and dino fossils and well lets face it, I never really grew up. These days I make jewelry from my finds in silver and gold, preserve fossil remains for the gold miners that dig them up. I do lapidary work and stone carving as well. On the side I make everything I need and live a self sustained life as much as possible. I look forward to refining my work through this forum, which at first glance seems I will be learning quite a lot! Thanks for having me. Oh, and that skill testing question was bugger!!
