The other day I found this strange looking rock on the beach at Port Mulgrave- a well known fossil hunting site near Whitby. I'd be interested to know if anyone has any ideas as to what it might be before I go ahead and hammer it out...it looks like a typical nodule from the area with several distinct lumps. I hypothesise a group of Ammonites but this is only a guess. Any help would be much appreciated!

hello, We found this fossil in Port Mulgrave UK. We think it is a tooth but not sure from which animal. It is 3.5 cm wide and 5.5 cm high. Thank you in advance Alexandra and son Thomas

Here is my Pliosaurus macromerus cut bone. Species: Pliosaurus macromerus Synonyms: Strétosaurus , Pliosaurus rossicus Fossil age: 180 million years (Lower Jurassic) Location: Port Mulgrave, North Whitby, England Formation: Upper Lias Fossil size: 3,7'' x 1,9'' If you think there are errors in my information please let me know.

another ID for you guys to help me with! thanks to everyone who helped on my last post, here is another. now u have no clue what this is….? guessing a negative of a fossil or trace fossil due to only being impressions. this was found in port mulgrave on the yorkshire coast if this helps

Hi all, I picked up this conical object (I'm currently reluctant to even commit to 'fossil') from the shore at Port Mulgrave, North Yorkshire. It was loose on the shore so unfortunately no certain stratigraphy either. I'd be happy with any thoughts or ideas of what it could be. Thank you all so much in advance, MarineBio

Today i finally visited port mulgrave. It was wet, sludgy and foggy. I had looked forward to visiting this place for ages. I parked at the top and then begun the long slippery climb down. The ladders are pretty steep and it’s a long, wet climb down but it’s worth it for crazy fossil hunters like us. Once at the bottom and you climb down the ladder to the beach ammonites are everywhere, i found two right next to each other (bottom left picture). I was very pleased to find a good belemnite and it came out without breaking! It seems you’ll always find things here, But the hardest part is getting back up the cliff with a bag full of fossils. Here are my finds from today! A very productive site! Thanks for reading

Hi, we visited Port Mulgrave last weekend as I did about 10 years ago and was wondering if the protrusions in the bed rock were bones and if anyone can recognise what they are. I got a glimpse of what the inside looked like could it be fossilised marrowbone?
