Does anyone know what this might be? The person who's selling it says it was found in Missouri. First thing I thought was a scute, however it looks too big to be a crocodile or alligator scute. Then I thought maybe an Ankylosaur scute, as it bears similarities to an Ankylosaur scute @Troodon once posted. Problem is, as far as I know Ankylosaurs are not known to have existed in Missouri. In fact, apparently very few dinosaur fossils have been found in Missouri at all. Any suggestions welcome

Just got these two yellow pieces from a man who did not remember about them. North America. first taken in full sun, appears to be light yellow crystal points in/on some kind of white shell material. 2nd. looks like it may be the same if I could separate it from the gray matrix? I.D please. Thanks.

I have recently been exploring what is know as the Jurassic coast portion of North Yorshire UK. After finding ammonites in abundance I stumbled upon what appeared to be a vertabrae looking piece of rock. Parts that are exposed like the ends of the rock appear slightly porus like fossilized marrow. Waves often erode the sides of the cliffs exposing new fossils in this area. I was wondering if anyone could help me identify if this is actually a fossil and if so what sort of prehistoric beast it could have come from and if it is not thanks for your advice and hopefully better luck next time!

Just a casual question on whether this might be a fossil or not. Found at an estate sale. Seems to be a vertebrae of some kind or just some rock coincidentally pentagonal in shape. Cube is 1". Best to all you diggers!

I am not sure what this is exactly, I found while sifting at Westmorland State Park, near Montross, Virginia... This area is part of the Aquia Formation, which produces mostly Miocene Fossils is what I am understanding... It was about 20 ft from the low tide line at a depth of 5ft... I have included the best images I was able to get... Please let me know if you have any further questions for me. Nick

This is a Pleistocene metatarsal from what I believe is a cat like creature found in the N. Sulphur River, Lamar Co. south of Paris, Tx. Would like one of our bone experts to shed a little light on this. It is approx. 2 3/4 inches in length. highly mineralized so not present day. I have a thought as to ID but need to have other opinions, believe this is from a young animal---maybe. Thank you for your help Tom

Never found a fossil before so please bare with me. Let me know if I have something here or not. Looks like some sort of bug because of the pattern on the backside. Also, I couldn't get a super close shot cause I'm using my iphone to capture the pictures but I could see what looked to be wing like veins or patterns in one part of the fossil.
