Found this today at Ramanessin brook. Possibly some type of claw or perhaps dolphin tooth. Any suggestions for ID appreciated. Thanks.

Had a few weird finds last week: 1) spine? bone? 2) burrow? 3) Initially thought it was a tooth in matrix, but now I don't think so 4) No clue, thought it was an acorn cap when it first came up in the sifter, but it seems to be mineralized 5) small broken piece of something

My wife and I managed to get down to the Ramanessin in NJ one afternoon last week. We haven't been able to get down in well over a year and they obviously have had some crazy rains since. The dam upstream from the school that was already mostly disintegrating completely blew out on one side and the deep pool that used to be just below it is completely silted over. There were also a lot more trees down across the water than I remember. Unfortunately there hadn't been any recent heavy weather and the creek seemed well picked over, but at least we didn't get blanked. My finds (1 inch squares/quarter inch dots): My wife's finds: I found my first mosasaur tooth, but its the saddest most riverworn little nub and is just under half an inch long, but at least the curse is broken: Steinkern Tooth with matrix on root unknown vert I will post a few items on the identify board
