Based on the numerous and informative posts of @Troodon, I feel pretty confident that this tooth is an Acheroraptor. It is from the Hell Creek formation, South Dakota. I saw some things that looked diagnostic and the seller provided pics that were pretty good. Anybody want to confirm the ID or present an alternative ?

I started collecting dinosaur fossils fairly recently and so far I have a pretty good working idea of what I have. There is one exception and I thought I would share on the Fossil Forum and see how far I can get with an ID. My guess is that it I will not get much further then unidentified theropod but it could be something completely I suppose. It does not really look like the Acheroraptor tooth I have and it is larger. It does not look like a Tyrannosaurus of any kind to me either. I will work on getting better pictures up though I did get some detailed shots of the serrations on the micro eye at work. This is my first attempt at really assessing a tooth so my language and/or wording may be not be correct. Call it the learning curve lol This is what I know It is from Hell Creek, Powder County Montana Slightly over 1/2 inch long This is what I observed Serrations are larger on one side than the other and extend further on one side. The denticles look a bit rounded to me and seem very uniform but are really quite small. I counted 5-6 per mm but I had a hard time counting them and am probably wrong lol I THINK it might be a Dromaeosaurid but I am calling it unidentified theropod for now. If you know your dino teeth and feel like giving an opinion, I would love the input. I may not know what it is but I do know that is a pretty nice tooth to have. The serrations are in great shape even though they are small and the tip is worn but not broken. I got it at a reasonable price to so regardless of what it is, I am pretty stoked !

I found a tooth here online and it claims to be a Raptor tooth from Hell Creek. It has a classic Kem Kem color and kinda looks like a croc tooth?

Hello guys, I have bought this theropod tooth, but I´m not sure about the ID. The tooth is 9mm in lenght and was found in the Judith River Formation. I hope, that you can help me! Kind regards from Germany!

Hey guys, I´m from Germany and have bought this little tooth from the Hell Creek Formation in Montana. The seller described the tooth as "Dromaeosaur tooth", which belongs possible to Dakotaraptor or Acherorator. I´m not sure about the identification of this tooth and hope, that you can help me. The tooth is 1,27cm (= 1/2") in lenght. Thank you in advance and kind regards!

Seller listed this as a “raptor toe bone” and it looks like it to me as well. Found in Montana’s HCF. What do you guys think?

Hey guys, Hello I am from Germany. That's why I apologize for my bad English. This tooth (top right in the picture) I have recently screaked from the US. The tooth comes from the Hell Creek Formation (Wyoming). It was sold as a "Raptor" tooth. He is about 7mm (0,28") long. I´m not sure, to which dinosaur the tooth belongs, thats why I asked my question in this forum. I hope, that you can help me! Thank you in advance and kind regards!

I came across this tooth and was wondering if the ID is correct as I haven't had much first hand experience with raptor teeth so far, especially Hell Creek raptors. It's being advertised as a Dakotaraptor steini tooth from the Hell Creek formation. In the description it says it has very fine serrations though I find them hard to spot in the photos as they are a little on the small side. It's pretty small. So could it be Acheroraptor instead?

Dear fossils experts, I would like to buy a new dinosaur tooth from the Kem Kem beds; I already read (more or less 10 times!) this thread - - but I'm a bit confused and I would really appreciate your opinion about those teeth sold as "Raptor Deltadromeus agilis". Comparing the images in the @Troodon post, to me those teeth are more likely of a Dromaeosaurid or Abelisaurid indet. What do you think? Thank you for your time and have a nice day!

Unidentified raptor fossil, likely clavicle, from kem kem, in Taouz, Morocco middle Cretaceous 100 mya -
Me and my 7 year old boy went looking for fossils many times. We found a claw tip and a claw mid section from two separate expeditions in two different areas within the river valley a kilometer apart. I believe we have a sickle claw tip from one hand of a dromaeosaur and a sickle claw mid section from the opposite hand. I would appreciate any additional id that could be made from these photos.

I'm 3D printing this Velociraptor's skull - https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2736627 Details are very realistic, but I didn't found any real Raptor's skull image to compare. Internet is full of replicas... Anyway, if you're going to 3D print it, consider that it is a very pain. It is badly split, and it is not very easy to 3D print: more than half of the pegs will break and some of the pieces have mesh issues. Also, I suggest to print teeth flat on the 3D printing bed, and not as the original STL. I will update the post with new images as I glue and paint it. Regards, Adriano

Fast. Intelligent. Deadly. The "Raptor" is perhaps one of the most famous dinosaur today thanks to Jurassic Park. To many people's surprise however, raptors are heavily feathered and nimbler than movies would have you believe. The Jurassic Park Velociraptor was merely the size of coyote in real life! In fact, their proper family name is 'Dromaeosaurid'. The largest species was Utahraptor, and it grew to the size of a grizzly bear! Dromaeosaurid fossils have been found all over the world. They first appeared during the Cretaceous, though isolated teeth have been found in the mid-Jurassic. Allow me to present my humble collection of Dromaeosaurid teeth. First up, from Cloverly Formation, one of my pride and joy from @hxmendoza A dromaeosaurid from Aguja Formation. I am seeing more Aguja fossils showing up, but dromaeosaurid teeth are still rare. Now, for the dromaeosaurids from the famous Hell Creek Formation. Some of them probably lived alongside T. rex. A big shout-out for @Troodon for getting me started on dromaeosaurids with this very first Acheroraptor!

Curious as to what everyone thinks of the id of this tooth. seller calls it Dromaeosaurus but could be from a small rex. location is Powder River county, Montana I wish i could buy this tooth but the seller doesnt ship to the UK... It is a nice small tooth and sorry for the not very good quality pics but they are screenshots from my phone.

Hello! My son received this as a gift from his grandfather years ago, and we were told this is a raptor egg. However thats all we were told... And my son and I are wondering if it is in fact a raptor egg and would love to know as much as possible about it. I took a lot of photographs and even through a macro lens. There are lines all over it which I thought were embryo veins...but now I think they might be cracks in what used to be a shell? under the macro lens you can see what I think might be calcite formations in the cracks and possibly crystalized throughout the inside as one of the nodules looks like glassy calcite up close. I would love to get your opinion on this piece, age, quality, type, etc. This is a prize piece in my sons collection and we would really appreciate any information from the experts Thank you!!

I saw these teeth for sale and the Id's look squirrely but I'm not an expert so look for a positive ID. All from Hell Creek Formation The seller identifies this as a Troodon tooth 1/4" looks more like a Pectinodon The others are being sold as Dromaeosaurus/Raptor All are 1/2" or less. They look like juvie Nanotyrannus
