Hey TFF! First post! Not making my appearance with a bang, but had a decent quick trip to the Potomac, about an hour and 15 minutes. Nice handful of sea glass, decent amounts of ray plates and turritella. A few solid sand tigers. And what I believe to be a small, busted otodus in the palm of my hand. I usually always come away with at least one small complete otodus, so when I don’t, it makes a great day fossil hunting turn into merely a very good day 🤷🏻♂️. Let me know what you think!

Below are three ray tooth plates, all of which are supposed to be from the Ypresian of the Ouled Abdoun Basin in Morocco. It may well be the case that ray tooth plates can't be identified to a genus or species level, but I thought it was worth an attempt. Thanks in advance for any proposed ID's Othniel

Hope everyone had a great weekend! Got a few IDs to confirm and a couple to check before adding to my shadow boxes. Depending on answers, I might have to re-open one and squish a piece in. These were all collected from the Peace River with FRE guided tour on 26/12/23 (as in previous posts). side note: I took these photos through my lighted standing magnifying glass and was pleasantly surprised by how well it worked! I will definitely be continuing with this moving forward. Please excuse the very scratched measuring lines on the stand; proof of why it's important to wear eye protection and a mask during fossil preparation! 1. I think these are all turtle spurs. The last two images are the same object, but wouldn't fit well into a collage.

Hey, Over the weekend, I took a little beach vacation to Port Aransas and I found some cool stuff. From what I know, the South Jetty is known for its pleistocene era fossils so I'm hoping that's what some of these are. 1. This one is probably a long shot but it kind of reminds me of a bone. I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't though. 2. Now I do know that these are ray teeth, but I was wondering if these are modern or actual fossils. 3. I'm not too sure if this is a fossil either. It reminds me of a fish spine though. 4. Originally, this was complete, but sadly, on my way back the top broke off and got lost. Like the last one, this also reminds me of a fish spine. 5. Probably the find I'm most excited about. This reminds me a lot of a mammal tooth from the pleistocene era. Now I could be 100% percent wrong and it could all be high hopes but if it is, that's pretty cool. Thanks for the help!

I haven’t been tooth hunting in a long time, so I’m scanning through sand from Matoaka beach, Maryland. I’m hoping to get out this year. I always love finding skate or Ray teeth.

Hello. I found this on the beach today. I’ve seen similar posts that make me think it may be part of some type of ray dental plate. But since it’s not very black, does that mean it’s not very old? Also, is there a way to know what type of Ray it could be from? Thanks so much!

I did not personally find this, it was from Harry Pristis, from his Peace River collection. But it is in my collection now!-
