  1. Hello two days ago I bought a Majungasaurus teeth. For me it is real teeth but I have to ask you about because I'm not sure (of course I want to be sure). Can you please tell is it real teeth ? Thank you for all of your answers on this topic
  2. It was collected from Bou Dib Formation near Mrakib. Im wondering if they are authentic or fake. Why is the stone they’re on a different color than the rest of the rock?
  3. My grandma says she must've gotten them somewhere around 40 years ago, and though she dpesnt remember where exactly she got it, she did say that she's travelled all over Asia, including China, througout her life (in fact, she even lived there in the 90s). Also, I was curious if there was any ways to preserve the fossil; it's kinda been kept out in the open it's whole life and I was wondering if there was any ways it could be displayed, like idk framed, in such a way that it gets protected from future damages? Thanks in advance
  4. Hi, I’ve been reading as much as possible on the site and have found the following two with as little restoration done as possible… which would be preferred or avoided from all of you with a lot more experience than myself on the topic? Thanks In advance
  5. Hello, in the previous year I bought ammonite in my small town in Poland. Recently, I read that many ammonites from Morocco (and this one looks like he was from Morocco) is either slightly counterfeit or not true. I asked about identification on the Polish Facebook group, and they told me that it could be slightly carved, but the original ammonite. What do you think? Thank you in advance. Sorry for possible mistakes
  6. Hi all I've had this tooth for a couple of years now, I think it was purchased off a website [price removed as per forum rules]. I've passed it off as real but I'm not sure if it actually is because of its cheap price. Are there any signs this is a fake? Pen shown for size
  7. I just bought this megalodon tooth online, and I was wondering if someone could help me out and see if it’s real. My main concern are these notches/dents on the sides of the tooth (close to the root). It kind of makes it seem like it’s been molded. I’m not sure if this is natural or not.
  8. Recently purchased this squid from the Tucson show. Looked a little off to me compared to the photos online but still bought it on a whim. Does it have any significant touch-ups or fakery? Thanks in advance!
  9. Hello It's my pleasure to be a member of your lovely forum I hope someone would help me to know if those shark tooth are real fossils or not, gonna buy them in Cairo, Egypt
  10. Spotted this today at an antique market. Wondering if there is any chance it is real.
  11. Came across this trilo online, and the deal seemed too good to be true. Is it a cast?
  12. I've been looking for a Andalusiana trilobite, but I know most of them are fake or heavily restored. Anyone know if this is real or not?
  13. Diplocaulus

    Unknown Trilo

I bought this trilobite from a small rock shop many years ago, and completely forgot about it until i opened up some old boxes in my house. No idea what kind of trilo it is, or if its even real or not. Can anyone ID this little guy?
  14. I've been thinking of buying this Cambropallas trilo, but it seems fake to me. The price seemed a bit too low as well. Is it fake, or just a really good deal?
  15. I bought this trilobite not too long ago, and I'm not sure if it is real or not. It wasn't cheap, so I want to make sure I got my money's worth. Some pictures from the seller:
  16. Hi everyone looking at buying this hyphalosaurus just wanting to make sure it’s real as it looks a little off to me.
  17. So I am completely new to fossils and recently aquired a spinosaurs tooth. This was from a dealer I frequently buys rocks and minerals from but this was new items they had. Just wondering if I can confirm that it is real. It was inexpensive, and I have read they are very common now so it seemed about right. Any information is greatly appreciated.
  18. I picked up this Megalodon tooth fossil in a fossil shop in Orkney. I’ve had it for little under a year now and am only just now considering it’s authenticity. To me it seems legit, mostly due to the condition of the top and I cannot find any evident tells of casting. Anyone with more expertise able to give me an answer? See pictures attached. Thanks, John. Additional information: Price - £75 Size - 4.7” Weight - 5.4 Oz / 156g
  19. I propose to buy this specimen if it is real. The seller told me that this specimen should belong to the pliosaur based on his experience, but I had a hard time to identify whether it is an ichthyosaur tooth or a pliosaur tooth. Is it an ichthyosaur tooth or a pliosaur tooth?
  20. I am thinking about buying a Hadrosaur center toe fossil. Before I buy the fossil I am wondering if they are real or fake and how I can tell.

The information given: - From upper Miocene age (Sarmatian) ca: 11-13 million years old Deinotherium (ancient elephant with tooth like hoe) Prodeinotherium bavaricum upper left M2 (penultimate) molar. The tooth was found near Gornji Vakuf in Bosnia. Size ca: 74 mm x 74 mm x 75 mm. Weight: 408 gram + packing. The root of the tooth was mouldered, the remained part was impregnated with glue. The part of the enamel in some places is partial.
  23. I am new and I need your oppinion about this Spinosaurus tooth:
  24. Hello I am trying to figure out if this specimen is real or if parts of it are composites. I do know that a protective coating has been put on to protect it, and that it had to be glued together once, but I am not sure if the digits on the hands are real or if the ribs are real. Thanks!
  25. Hiya bought this a couple days ago from a fossil and gem store wanted to know if it was legit
