  1. Hi all, I’ve just purchased a large Agadir Ammonite from a dedicated fossil shop and am wondering if it at all real? I would appreciate any inclination!
  2. Hello, I was wondering if these chinese Keichosaurus looked real? How much reconstruction/restoration if any, and how is their condition? Both slabs are about 9 inches long. First looks ok to me, second's body looks a bit weird. Thank you! 1. 2.
  3. Hello, I have a question about the authenticity of a tooth. All 4 teeth are carcharodontosaurus teeth. Normally I know only brown to reddish teeth. The tooth on the left side is 8 cm big and in my opinion rather white. Is this a coincidence or a fake? Thank you very much
  4. Hiya! First time posting so please forgive me if I’m doing something incorrectly. I’ve recently gotten into fossils after previously collecting different minerals. I would like verification for two fossils before I go ahead and purchase them.
  5. Kurvinosaurus

    Spinosaurus or crocodile tooth?

Hello! I bought this tooth from a gift shop. It was labeled a spinosaurus tooth. I’m just wondering if it most likely is a spinosaurus tooth, or a crocodile or something else? Thank you!
  6. Hey everyone! I made an account just to ask this question from some real experts: is this Mosasaur jaw real? I bought a tooth from the same shop and the matrix looked the same: some bones scattered about in the dirt and rock. (It’s the one right under my pinkie I’m the image) I’m a little thrown off because, well firstly, the shop traveled to vendor at a fair and that seems a little suspicious. Secondly, they’re selling other items that are commonly faked from Morocco like Trilobites. I really want this to be real but I can’t justify buying a fake…
  7. I new to collecting and recently received this Spinosaurus tooth from a dealer who has a great reputation online. It was not a particularly expensive tooth and although the crown appeared to be in good condition from the dealer listing (and no repairs/restoration work was listed) the root has me a little suspect. No alarm bells from the listing photos but now that I have it in my hand and can see it from all angles, it got me wondering. The first couple of attachments are the dealers listing photos. The rest of the photos are mine. The main thing that has me curious is the colour v
  8. hi folks, Im thinking of buying a cluster of Oviraptor from a seller who says he got these at a gem/fossil show over 10 years ago. He says he preps fossils and has extensive experience but has not finished prepping these particular eggs and won't get around to abrading them out of the matrix. I told him they are fake but he insists they are not, so I wanted to put it to the test here. thanks for your help.
  9. Hello everyone, I hope everyone is doing well I have recently started getting myself into collecting fossils and I came upon this lot of jellyfish fossils so I purchased them because they seemed interesting and it’s something I never had. Do these look fine ? To me they just look like stained rocks but that could just be because jellyfish are soft bodied organisms. Thanks for your input
  10. Hello, I apologize in advance as I'm sure questions like this come up a lot. I'm thinking about purchasing this dinosaur egg which I believe is from a fairly reputable seller. I've always wanted a real dinosaur egg for my collection, but I just wanted to get some opinions on whether you think this one is real or a fake? Thank you very much for any assistance!
  11. Hello all. My first purchase. I'm pretty confident of they're authenticity. But I just want any concern settled. Slight impulse buy as they were in an auction and it almost ended. Tooth #1: Actually has sand still stuck in its crevices and still smells like the sea. This might make it an obvious real specimen but I don't know how far fakers are willing to go. The white striations are a lot more prominent in the pictures. They don't really look like that in person. Polishing compound? Reportedly Otodus Megalodon from South Carolina. Tooth #2: Very little sand
  12. Good day and thank you for reading! I bought a 7-inch Spinosaurus claw in an auction and was hoping to get a second opinion on the condition and authenticity. I can send it back within a month for a full refund. I am also hoping for some pointers in knowing if is repaired or a composite. I have read many of the forums on here, but I have more questions. The length is 7 inches, but I do not have a ruler at the moment. This fossil is supposedly from the Kem Kem beds in Morocco. Any help is appreciated! Btw I do not have many fossils and plan to display this one to the public at my work if I keep
  13. Hey guys, Saw this spinosaurus online and looks a bit to "good" for the money. Can anybody tell if its a real or a fake?
  14. I'm continuing my search for my first dino tooth. I came across this spino tooth: is real and in good conditions, or is reconstructed?
  15. Recently I've read about fake Moroccan trilobites, so I'm afraid every fossil in my collection is fake Could you help me figure out if these two specimen are genuine or not? One is Hollardops, the other a Barrendeops (I think).
  16. Hi i just came aross this claw from kem kem basin . seller claimed to be no repair/restoration Look pretty nice to me . what do you think ? any repair or restoration ? any red frag ? thank in advance ! Gun
  17. 3'5 inch Carcharodontosaurus S. Tooth from the regular KemKem beds. However, I do have some suspicions of the root. Can anybody help
  18. Good morning all, Been looking at purchasing a Mosasaurus jaw, but know to be weary of composites. What do you guys think of this one?? Is it authentic and or compostie?? I appreciate the help!!
  19. Do you think it is a real fossil? I am very interested: ) want to get your advice first. From France (according to seller) Thanks!
  20. Saw this tooth while browsing. Looked so off and maybe entirely reconstructed or fake. Any ideas?
  21. Hello all, How does this Cupressocrinus from Morocco look? 4.5cm including stem. Any parts seem carved or restored? Thanks!
  22. Just received this rhino jaw piece from indonesia and would like to get some opinions if its real and do you seen any repair or resto?
  23. Hey! I have just been given this fossils, the previous owner could not find the certificate of authenticity, and I am not sure if it is real or not. It's very heavy, the teeth stand out a lot, and they feel smooth. Could please someone help us identify if it could be real? Thanks.
  24. Hello, experts, I need your help and advice. Do you think it is a real or fake fossil? The last one shows the original slab. Thanks! I appreciate!
  25. Hi there everyone! I've recently been acquiring different fossils to add to my collection and I came across a listing for a carcharodontosaurus tooth that really interested me. Below are a few photos of the listing advertising the carcharodontasaurus tooth. The sellers themselves are very reputable and I am in no way questioning their validity as I'm sure the tooth is a real fossil. Instead, I was wondering if anyone would be able to help me positively identify the fossil as a carcharodontosaurus tooth as I know many different teeth and fossils come from the Kem Kem Beds in Morocco. The tooth
