  1. So these possible eggs (rocks) were acquired from a chinese dealer back in the 70's and somehow came to a local shop to me where they knew nothing about authenticating them. The information I was told is they are from the Hunan Province in China. They were told to have been placed in the matrix base. Measurements: Egg 1- 4"x4" Egg 2- 4"x4" Egg 3- 4.5"x4.5" I even got them CT scanned which you can see the kinda blurry results but i'm curious... Are they real?... If so what kind?
  2. I'm thinking about buying this Keichsosaurus, found in China, at Taiwan since 1980. Since there are so many fakes of the Keichsosaurs out there: is it real or a colorful fake? Size: 23 x 12 cm Size Keichosaurus: about 29 cm long, male
  3. Hi! Is this a real egg? It's for sale as Segnosaurus galbinensis from Ganzhou (China, Cretaceous). Can be true? Thanks
  4. Looking at purchasing this oviraptor egg. Is it 100% real and natural or has it been restored / repaired in some areas.
  5. Came across this tooth on the internet. Although not my own interest, it does make an interesting conversation. How much of this tooth is real? It's 7,5 inches in length. Spinosaurid.
  6. Hi I’ve been looking for a juvenile T Rex tooth and I came across this one, I was wondering if I can have some help to see if this is real? Thanks -Daniel
  7. I need some opinions on this one, is it real and what genus is it? It isn't a Hollardops and it is quite small.
  8. Hi all my first thread here… How to tell if this is a real saber tooth skull? Data I know so far makes me suspicious… Origin: Asia / Hong Kong Dealer: Private CoA: Nothing, only photos. Provenance: bought at a fossil fair in 1980 (so, nothing to validate here…) The skull was prepped with a liquid to prevent sucking up water from air. Kind regards flashy
  9. Opinions on these images? Mosasaur skull seems too good to be true for a size this big from what I’m seeing but I don’t know how to judge. It looks relatively real to me but wanted you guys to weigh in. It’s like 3 feet long.
  10. I am looking for a nice Ungual claw. Hadrosaur. So this one looked nice in the first place. Says to be a PES claw from an Edmontosaurus. 2 11/16 x 2 3/4 in size. Hell Creek Fm., Garfield county Montana USA Is everything natural with this one or should i be searching for a better one?
  11. I recently bought the "fossil" pictured below. I was told it was a dinosaur but that was all they knew. Because of the lack of information and the low price, I'm inclined to believe it is a fake. However, it looks very real, though I would guess it's an aquatic lizard, not a dinosaur. I wanted to get the opinion of those in this forum as to whether or not it is real, and regardless of authenticity, see if anyone knows what animal it is. The slab is about 9 x 5/12 inches (23 x 14 centimeters). Also note that my camera auto adjusts the pictures and adds extra contrast, making the fossil in the picture look extra dark and the slab lighter. The first picture is the most color accurate. Thank you all!
  12. Hi. I need some help on this claw. I read the topics on buying claws but i still find it very hard to tell if its real or not . Is this one worth buying and if its real how much of it is restauration . Thanks
  13. Hell everyone, I received fossils from Morocco. And half of them are broken. But this isn’t the main topic here. I took pictures for 4 fossils. May I know they’re real or fake, pleas? if they’re real, I would like to know what they are. Thank you very much. Fossil A: Frontal skull of Spinosaurus? Fossil B: pterosaur beak? Mouth? Fossils C: pterosaur beak? Mouth? Fossils D: Ulna bone of Spinosaurus? Thank you very much
  14. Hi everyone! One of the goals for my collection is to eventually own a keichousaurus fossil as they’ve come to really fascinate and captivate me. I’ve done some research externally and on the forum about how to identify real or fake or restored keich fossils and I wanted your guys’ input on this specimen I’ve recently come across. Admittedly, the prep work on this keich fossil, if real, is pretty bad and is definitely not something I’d go after, but I wanted to see if my bit of research has payed off. My guess is that the specimen is real, however, it seems to me like it’s had a very unpleasant acid prep done to it with some sort of restoration in the distal bones, possible in the tail too. What do you think? I’d love to hear your guy’s thoughts.
  15. Hi everyone, as I was looking for Carcharodontosaurus claws. I came upon this other claw instead. A handclaw (16,5 cm) from KemKem Basin, Taouz Morocco. What is your opinion on this claw?
  16. Just received this rhino jaw piece from indonesia and would like to get some opinions if its real and do you seen any repair or resto?
  17. I just want some opinions regarding those two trilobites Zlichovaspis trilobites. Do they look ok? Which one in your opinion should I choose? I thank you all in advance.
  18. Found this Drotops for sale from someone in my town. It looks weird to me, I need some opinions regarding this.
  19. So I am thinking of getting this trilobite. The seller seems fine with nice specimens. This one though because it doesn't have a finding crack (I asked him in a message and indeed there isn't one) I was a little hesitant to proceed as I have heard that it is important for the originality of a Morocan trilobite to have one. I need some opinions on this matter.
  20. Hi there, I am hoping some experts could help me determine if this tooth is real or not. I did some research and it appears to be a megalodon tooth (possible fake?) from the Pungo River Formation. I found it at a thrift shop and my Fiance was pretty annoyed I would spend so much on a fake tooth. It is odd to find at a thrift shop/red cross so that is why i am asking as well... Curious what you guys think this could be worth if you in fact think it is real.. i measure the longest point from the tip to the root edge at just over 5.5" (its difficult to show this in a picture). As a non-expert, I feel this could be real as it is fairly heavy, it does not seem like something cast in a single mold, the coloring is imperfect like it is natural and there are alot of different textures. The root is rougher, the enamel is very smooth and the part under the enamel looks like what i would think as bone. Super curious what everyone thinks! My fiancé is not too happy about me spending [price removed] on a fake tooth... HELP!
  21. Came across this supposedly original carcharodontosaur tooth. Claims it is original and I really have my doubts. Only have one picture though. This is not a tooth I bought or anything. Just came across, nothing more
  22. Dear dinosaur egg collectors, after buying my first spinosaurus tooth some weeks ago, I decided to look for a oviraptor egg. First I started reading threads in TFF where experts give hints to detect fake eggs (thanks for sharing your knowledge). Then I have read several threads where people ask if the eggs are real and I think I can detect most of the fake eggs now. But in this particular case I'm not sure if the egg below is real or fake? The egg shape is pretty wide from one angle. The shell is very complete and from my point of view the texture and pores continue after a crack in the shell. What do you guys think? Thanks for helping. Max
  23. I found this trilobite for sale and wanted some opinions regarding the authenticity. It looks suspicious to me but I am fairly new and need some help. If it is real what spices is it?
