Recently just got back from a trip on Tybee Island! During this trip I went out looking for shark teeth several times a day, and even did a tour with Sundial Charters! Overall in 6 days I found over 150 shark teeth and countless other fossils! I'll be posting them on here! Here's the coolest tooth I found actually on Tybee, I believe it's a Great Hammerhead.

Orgin....Provenance....Documentation. Im clueless on where to even start.

Looking for guidelines, information, steps, the process....anything really concerning how to get provenance/the origin for a fossil. This fossil was found on my family's estate by my husband. He's a dedicated and passionate rock hound but not certified in the field. I can tell you everything about the location, the find, and the excavation. I can tell you lots of different information and even some research BUT just my word isn't cutting the mustard so to speak . Any guidance on how to do this is VERY much appreciated. -
I had scoped out a few potential fossiling sites in the Summerville area with the help of Google maps, and finally got the chance to check them out on Saturday. While I still couldn't tell you where to find huge teeth in Summerville, I can certainly tell you where you won't now. However, I did find a few promising spots that will require further investigation. Out of the 4 or so new spots I checked out, only two held even the smallest tooth. I also visited an old favorite spot and did alright there. Here are the results from this trip. I've also got some unknown specimens that I have included a separate picture of. I you have any idea what any of these are, I would appreciate it if you would let me know. Thanks! - Shoe

I had an opportunity to go down to Westmoreland twice this week because I was lucky enough to have off work. The first day I took my GF with me because she had off as well. The first day was pretty nice and sunny, the wind wasn't a factor that day so it was perfect for hunting in the water. Being down there only a short time I found one of the most beat up shamer megs I've ever found. Im not sure how it could've gotten this bad, but atleast it was a good sign. We found a few teeth that day including a decent little Snaggletooth. On the second day i went down by myself and found that the wind had picked up significantly from the previous day. I was limited to whatever was laying on the beach. Luckily, I was able to find a couple teeth including a beat up Mako and a nice upper snaggletooth. Here are some pics for you to enjoy. If anyone has any theories to what happened to this meg, I'd love to hear them. The inside of it is mushy and pretty much broke apart in my hand. Thanks, Boneheadz
